The sun entered the sign of the bull, Taurus, on April 19. A fixed, feminine, earth sign, Taurus grounds, or "earths" the new influx of energies that were created through the fire sign, Aries, at the Spring Equinox. Venus-ruled Taurus is creative, fertile, and nurturing. While the fixed nature of Taurus can be seen as stubborn, it is actually an expression of the persistence needed to bring thoughts and ideas into practical expression in the material world. People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Taurus may be slow to respond as they consider all practical aspects of a given relationship or project, but - once engaged - they are generous, hard-working, enormously productive people who bless our world with practical beauty.

A new moon in Taurus on April 27 suggests rolling up our sleeves and getting to work on practical matters that must be implemented in the first week of May. Counter to Saturn's emphasis on work and productivity, fun-loving Jupiter brings the impulse to expand and explore new directions, yet a balance must be found between fulfilling current responsibilities and venturing into new territory. Mars in Cancer provides the key to creating balance through self-nurturing activities that restore our ability to get necessary projects completed.
