Whenever
you spend time by the sea... have you ever thought of simply
walking into it? Straight into a permanent sleep? What tranquility. Choose
weightlessness and keep on throwing flowers. Into space. Into air. Anytime.

May I invite you
to look into the picture plane... to discover sacred details and rhythm,
and to unravel its meaning like the words of a love poem. Life. Love.
Growth. Light. I see my process with art as a form of communication with
others that I long for in a casual sense - yet find unattainable.

PLANT MEDICINE: The Wisdom in Native American
Herbalism
BY
STEPHEN HARROD BUHNER
As my learning with plant medicines progressed I would occasionally return
to my family physician for one thing or another. Increasingly, however,
he either did not know what was wrong with me or if he did he had no effective
treatment for it. Further, it was becoming increasingly apparent that,
as fine a man as he was, he could not go below the surface of the disease
to its root cause. He did not know what was wrong, he simply had information
about some of its aspects. If the treatment lay outside of easily administered
antibiotics, he had few if any tools with which to treat the disease.
I was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with this approach to healing.
Finally, after a particularly unsatisfactory treatment, I spent a few
weeks in deep thought about the course I was pursuing in the healing of
my body. I rummaged through all the old receipts and records of medical
treatment I had undergone over the past six or seven years. The picture
that emerged was deeply thought provoking. In all that time there was
not one disease for which I had sought treatment that I could not have
treated more efficiently, more cheaply, and more satisfactorily with the
plant medicines I knew. This insight caused me a great deal of perturbation.
It resulted, eventually, in a fairly unorthodox decision. I decided that
henceforth I would not go to any physician for the treatment of disease...

HEALING
THE ETERNAL SOUL: Insights From Past Life and
Spiritual Regresion
BY
ANDY TOMLINSON
Modern Western science has established that the physical world is made up
of energy. However, it has not yet provided a theory to explain intuition,
the subtle body and the non-physical dimensions we can experience. Neither
has it been able to explain people's near-death experiences and children's
past lives that indicate some part of consciousness exists entirely independent
of the physical body. In the absence of Western science providing an explanation,
we have to turn to other sources for a theory of past lives. All the great
teachers of all the major religions have communicated the same fundamental
truths to different parts of the world to suit the time and culture. In
their outer form many religious perspectives appear to be in conflict, but
when the inner teachings of the founders are studied in depth, they have
a remarkable harmony. It has been called the Ancient Wisdom and has been
around for tens of thousands of years. A "golden thread" it connects
the esoteric, spiritual and indigenous teachings the world over...

PLANETARY
CYCLES:
July '06 - Astrology
BY CAROLINA EASTWOOD-PARKYN
The summer solstice
on June 21 set the stage for the next three months of human experience.
In the Western Hemisphere, this is the longest day of the year, and the
opposite is true in the Southern Hemisphere, meaning that we have different
backgrounds to the same event, yet, for all of humanity, the solstice
is a significant turning point. The Latin term "solstice" roughly
translates to "sun standing still." Symbolically, it is a pause
in time; a moment to reflect on what we have experienced and learned since
last January's Winter Equinox, and a time to look ahead to what we may
wish to create in the coming three months. Take a moment to reflect on
what you intend to create this summer, ask, what would be the most fruitful
and fulfilling use of your time, then hold that vision with delight in
your heart.
At the Summer Solstice, the sun entered the sensitive, nurturing, and
often psychic, sign of Cancer. Early July is a great time to focus our
energies on nurturing home and family. For those of us who do not live
in traditional family units, please remember that family can also include
your close circle of friends, animals, and beloveds; the key for July
is nurturing. On a deeper level, the sign Cancer represents the foundation
of our life and being. When a foundation is strong, the structure gives
consistent and valuable support for a long time. Taking the time this
month to strengthen your foundation on a physical, mental, emotional and
spiritual level is energy well spent to ensure the quality of your future.
On July 4, Mercury turns retrograde (apparent backwards motion) in Leo,
and backs into Cancer until July 28. Because Mercury is the planet symbolizing
all forms of communication and ways of connecting to our environment,
while it is retrograde we have the opportunity to complete projects, or
deliver communications, that have been on hold. Mercury retrograde helps
us to get current, which frees our energy for upcoming new activities.

THE HEART: Never too Soon to Love
BY ALAN COHEN
It
is said that when we come to the end of our life, it is not the things we
did that we regret; it is the things we didn't do. Buddha taught, "There
are two reasons great ideas never come to fruition: 1) Not finishing, and
2) Not beginning."...
