AUGUST, 2009

DEAR SUBSCRIBER, of all the editor’s letters and updates I have penned to you over the past 10 years, this is the one that has been the most difficult to write.

This month, PlanetLightworker.com celebrates its 10th birthday. This month also sees the very last edition of PLW in its current form. As of the end of this month, we will not be producing any more editions for the foreseeable future. There are several reasons for this – some of them are energetic, some of them relate to the evolutionary shift we are experiencing, and some are plainly pragmatic.

We know there is a shift taking place. Since the day of its inception, PLW has always been a ‘live’ being to us; an energy that we have never really been able to control, but rather, one that has always ‘spoken’ to us on some level about what “it” (whoever or whatever “it” is) needs to have happen.

In the mundane world, change comes to us through mundane events – we lose our job, we meet a new love, we marry, divorce, or are widowed, etc., all of which affect what we do and where we go next. But as many of us know, this is just the way the Universal energy operates to nudge us in the directions we need to go in order to fulfill the next part of our mission, contract or plan. In the mundane world, the current economic climate, coupled with the shifting energies, have conspired to bring us to a place where we have no choice other than to accept that we simply do not have the financial, emotional, energetic and physical resources to go on supporting the production and publication of PLW in the way that we have been doing for the past 10 years.

Indeed, that the magazine has continued for as long as it has (and looks as beautiful as it does) is solely due to the selfless commitment of the wonderful, talented team of people who have given so much to it over the years – people like TammiLu, Laura, Mike, Sharyl Jackson, Ron, Damian, Evan, Vara and Steve and Gemma Hansen – as well as the dedication of the contributors, columnists and authors who have graced our pages with their wise words. The truth is, PLW has never been (nor was it ever intended to be) a profit-making venture. The people who have worked on the magazine were never in it for the money, for the simple reason that it cost them, and me, more time, effort, money and energy to work for PLW than PLW could possibly afford to match.

And it’s important you know that none of us has ever begrudged a moment of our time, an ounce of our energy, or a penny of the money we ourselves have had to put into the magazine to maintain such a consistently high quality. What we have personally got from producing PLW and from our interactions with you, our readers, and contributors, has far outweighed anything we have invested.

And now, the time has come for something to change. After this August edition, PLW will cease production for the moment. It is not going to “die” completely… rather, it is going to go into hibernation, as it were, for a period of time, until it has completed whatever quiet period it needs in order to metamorphose into something even more beautiful. In the meantime, we are going to unlock the archives, and throw the entire magazine (all 10 years of issues) open to anyone who wants to access our archive of articles – all of which are just as timely and relevant today as they were when they were first written.

We will change a couple of technical elements that will require visitors to sign up for free access, and we shall continue to send out regular newsletters on a monthly basis. Carol Holaday’s monthly Crystal Star Oracle Reading and Carola Eastwood’s astrology column will still be available in the Newsletter, and we shall also continue to provide you with specific items of news, events, recommendations and information that we feel you will want to know about, as well, perhaps, as the occasional article or two.

Instead of featuring the article index, the contents page on the website will link straight to the archives. We will also update the contents page from time to time with notices, news, updates and information about the Inspired Parenting Radio Show, World Puja shows and anything else that we feel you will want to know about. The AdSpace pages also will continue to remain available, so that you can still find resources and other items of interest.

The INSPIRED PARENTING RADIO SHOW is to continue being broadcast twice every Sunday on the World Puja network and as of this Fall, I shall also be hosting another new Internet radio show, which will focus on the latest and most cutting edge, complementary health products technologies and modalities that, in our opinion, offer the most assistance to our bodies, minds and spirits, as we navigate the coming shift from the 3rd, through the 4th, to 5th dimensional-living. We’ll continue to keep you posted about the shows and forthcoming guests via the contents page and PLW monthly newsletter.

While this may look like the end of an era, we, that is Vara and myself, are choosing to believe that what’s happening is a simple and natural part of the evolutionary process that all of us are experiencing. For those of you who don’t know, PLW was launched on August 11th, 1999 – a date that was deliberately chosen to capture the energies associated with the last big eclipse of the 20th century. On July 22nd just prior to PLW’s 10th birthday, we experienced what many astrologers say is the strongest eclipse of the 21st Century – the synchronicities seem too obvious to ignore. If you want to know more check out Carola Eastwood’s interpretations of these eclipse and what they are requiring of us right now in our July and August editions:

Finally, to those of you who may have taken out a subscription relatively recently and would like a refund, please know that while PLW has no money in its bank account, we do honor and value our integrity. Thus, if you will send me your details, I shall personally add you to a list and will do my level best to refund your subscription out of my own private income over the coming months. It may take a while, but you WILL receive a refund for the unused portion of your subscription, you have my personal word on that.

I’m not going to say goodbye to any of you. You are all too much a part of my family.

With my warmest regards and deep appreciation and gratitude for your loyalty to the magazine and the contribution you have made to my life,

Sandie Sedgbeer

SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN

TOM DIED. OR DID HE?
By BARBARA HARRIS WHITFIELD

The external symptoms we can see in the internal fissures in our institutions - finance, politics, health care, religion - and these serve us, for increasingly we are looking for transparency, honesty, simplicity in our lives. Changes that are coming - it feels as though we are about 10 to 12% of our way along a collective journey...

Often, the role of a teacher, coach, or leader is to help people to unlearn. Most of us have learned so much stuff that either isn't true or that doesn't work. We each carry beliefs and assumptions about life that limit our ability to grow, to be effective at what we do, and to see life clearly. Our learning has created an illusory world that isn't as real as we might think. Therefore, our task, if we are to grow spiritually, is not to learn, but to unlearn...

The story goes that when hardly more than a tot, I had tea parties with God. I would set a place for God at my tiny table, provide a chair, and then engage in long conversations, always pausing for God's reply. A visiting minister once witnessed one of my tea parties and left convinced that God really was there, and that what he had seen was far too real to have been just a child's imagination. Topics God and I discussed centered around future events and my behavior when they occurred. My journey in faith began with those tea parties...

Women in our modern world have a problem. Thus far, they have begun to become financially empowered and professionally empowered. Yet the most important need, for spiritual empowerment, has often been neglected or ignored. Our world is already in the time of transition and it will be a difficult time until the new era blossoms into an age of peace and understanding. If our world is to survive, spiritually empowered women must take their place...

Tom was a refreshing person. He knew he didn't have the education that put him with the "intellectuals" we were often surrounded by, but he also knew he had something to say so nothing was going to stop him. He held his own with everyone, even though his manner and choice of words were reminiscent of a character in one of Mark Twain's books...

DO YOU DO WINDOWS?
BY MARLENE BUFFA

OK. I admit it. I hate cleaning windows. Like most of us, the task often gets delayed until the last possible moment. After craning my neck to look around the spots on the glass to see outside, I finally relent and get the window cleaner and the newspaper. My most recent attempt at cleaning windows taught me a valuable lesson. No matter how hard I scrubbed on the inside, I couldn't get the specks off the outside of the glass...

THE EYE OF THE LOTUS:
The Communicator

BY RICHARD JELUSICH

The nature of the communicative abilities is so strong coming through the throat chakra individual that often they will not perceive their own talent, but will tend to become frustrated, impatient, alienated and frenetic. Their ability to be so psychically in tune sets them at the point of receiving information first before anyone else in their own soul group... It is by this very nature of the throat chakra individual to be so in tune psychically that the immense power of the chakra creates a prescience in the physical mind to race ahead, to form conclusions and to live in the future...

RADICAL REALIZATIONS:
The Tyrrany Of Teachers

BY ROBERT RABBIN

Do you know that you are using your spiritual teachers, incarnate and disincarnate, to keep yourself lost and confused? Yes, the very ones who you think, believe, and hope will lead you to the promised land of your true self, your higher self, your non-self - whatever name you give your favorite form of redemption and salvation and freedom? Until you understand what you are doing to yourself, and then stop doing it, you will continue using your teachers to as excuses for being lost and confused - in spite of what you think you've found and know...

Now let us get on with it, and start owning who you are. Let us help reflect your energy, so that you may re-member who you really are...

HOW LITTLE FOX GOT HER BLACK STOCKINGS
BY KITA SZPAK

The fox cub woke up, rubbed its eyes with its paws and uncurled its big bushy tail. A huge yawn followed next; and Mama was right there, licking Little Fox and her two brothers 'til they shone. She was worried though - her daughter was different. Every cub had black stockinged legs but not Little Fox. Her legs were white...

SPIRITUAL BEINGS, HUMAN EXPERIENCE: A Sense Of Humor
BY DOC BARHAM

Funny isn't born, funny is made. Many people believe the myth that you're either funny or you're not, and if you are then you were fortunate enough to be born with the funny gene. Nothing could be further from the truth. Quite simply, as human beings we become what we learn and practice, and we learn and practice what is meaningful and important to us...

THE PURPOSE OF LIFE: Sharing, Opening Up, Purpose Sharing and Success, Part 2
BY DANIEL CONDRON

In order to discover and know your purpose in life you will have to open up. Most people find this idea frightening. This is because most people live in or carry some kind of fear around with them. Yet a flower doesn't fear opening up. A flower bud finds fulfillment in opening up to the sun. A newborn baby is fully open to learning. Children are open to learning. Yet as people age most people begin to close themselves off...

NOTES TO MYSELF:
Taking a Risk

BY STEFANIE MILLER

One of my favorite sayings that I often reflect upon is: And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. I have often felt like the bud waiting for the right opportunity to blossom. I feel we are all going through various stages of blooming. We are all tender beings that yearn to grow and take risks but it can be very scary indeed...

QUANTUM MIRACLES: Part 15 - Consciousness (continued)
BY ANANDA Of LOVE

In A Course in Miracles, we are told that, in the unconscious state, one can only make what has happened before happen again. The act of creating comes from present moment awareness. This is where The Source of all decides what we will see. His will is our will, as taught in A Course in Miracles, so that, in every moment, we are unconscious. We will block what is given by focusing on what was...

THE UNCOMMON PATH
BY MICK QUINN

Most of us have an intuitive sense, at least, that happiness is an inside job - that it comes more from attitudes than from external circumstances. And yet, we still focus all our energy on the pursuit of success and expect that to make us happy. Why do we do this?...

TEACHING CHILDREN ABOUT THEIR DREAMS
BY BARBARA CONDRON

In today's world, dreaming has yet to be valued in our academic circles. Since we do not teach about dreaming in our schools, we do not learn the science of dreaming. Although dreams may be prized in some religious scriptures, most religious leaders do not instruct on dreaming, so the faithful do not learn the art of dreaming. As a result, most human parents do not teach their young about dreams...

THE LOOKING GLASS:
The Cancerous Nature of Envy

BY ALLAN G. HUNTER

Just the other day I noticed, yet again, that quite a lot of people have a way of being resentful when others have some sort of mild success. I wondered about this. It seemed to be the exact opposite of what we'd expect. Don't we expect our friends and acquaintances to be happy for our good fortune?...

MOTHER'S WISDOM:
August '09

BY VARA LOREL

The mirror teaches us about the power of myth. The power of story. We are who we say we are; we are who we decide to be. Choose the reflection you wish to see; choose the reflection you wish to BE. Leave your old myths behind. Cut loose those old wrappings and step free of entanglement...

PLANETARY CYCLES:
Astrology, August '09

BY CAROLA EASTWOOD

The sun entered the fiery, outgoing, creative sign of Leo on July 22. Born with a strong, stubborn will and a compelling drive for self-expression, people with the sun, moon or rising sign in Leo are natural leaders. Add a huge heart and more than a dash of charisma, and Leo becomes the life of the party!...
