Welcome to PlanetLightworker Magazine!

THE BIRTH OF PLANETLIGHTWORKER.COM e-zine was timed consciously to coincide with the auspicious influences afforded by the great solar eclipse, which occurred on August 11th, 1999.

Although the idea for the magazine was born out of the collective vision of several people who shared a common ideal, credit for the actual fact of its existence really belongs to two people: our former proprietors, Steve and Barbara Rother, who funded the necessary web space, software and technology with which to build and maintain it, and then gifted it to New Earth Publications in August of 2003.

Several years ago, when Steve first started channeling, he and Barbara launched our sister site, www.lightworker.com with the intention of creating an internationally accessible Light Community in Cyberspace that would emulate the new Planet Earth as we move from a paradigm of "follow the leader to follow your own heart". Soon after, the notion was conceived of producing an online metaphysical/spiritually-oriented magazine that would seek to fulfill several agendas.

In keeping with the Rothers' philosophy, the magazine would, first and foremost, provide a space where all flavors of the truth could be freely expressed without fear of spiritual bias or censorship.

Secondly, it would provide a means to encourage people to turn their individual dreams into reality by assisting and encouraging them to develop new skills in such areas as web development and design, as well as provide a platform for aspiring writers to gain confidence and exposure in writing for a professional medium.

Thirdly, the magazine would seek to provide an eclectic mix of informative, enlightening and/or entertaining articles that would hopefully serve the interests of and draw together a wide variety of spiritually inclined people of all nationalities.

Of course, it goes without saying that none of this could be achieved without the participation of a whole host of highly talented and deeply committed volunteers who have selflessly donated their time, energy, and skills to producing each issue of the magazine every month for over 6 1/2 years now. As is the natural way of things, some of these people are no longer able to play an active role in the production of the magazine - some have gone on to write and publish their own books, some have developed a sufficiently large following to warrant the development of their own websites, while others have naturally and understandably moved on to accomplish their own career objectives. While it is always sad to say goodbye to people, nothing gives us more pleasure than to see people expanding their capabilities and successfully moving into their areas of passion. We deeply honor the work of everyone who has contributed to the magazine and will always remain grateful to all our volunteer staff - both past and present - for their invaluable contributions to the continuing growth and success of PlanetLightworker.

Managing Editor: Sandie Sedgbeer
Owner of New Earth Publications

A British journalist, editor, and author, Sandie's work has appeared in numerous national newspapers and magazines in the UK and abroad.

She has extensive experience in the British magazine publishing, advertising and direct marketing industries. In addition to conceiving, designing, creating and launching a number of new magazine titles and special edition supplements for a variety of publishing houses, Sandie acts as an editorial/marketing/publishing consultant to several of the largest and most successful Direct Marketing companies in Europe.

The author of 6 books published by major international publishing houses, Sandie has appeared frequently on television in Great Britain, and has been interviewed on all the best known radio stations throughout the UK, including the BBC World Service. Her books have been translated into German, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.

A qualified hypnotherapist and certified NLP practitioner, Sandie regards her personal quest for enlightenment as having commenced virtually the day she learned to phrase her first question… and likely to continue unabated until the day she leaves this planet. In the meantime, she is still marveling at the way synchronicity has led her from England to California, where, despite missing her family and grown up children tremendously, she is delighted to find herself being given the opportunity to help realize the collective vision of the very special people involved in PlanetLightworker.com.

Assistant Editor: Carol Holaday

Carol, often known as Joysprite, the Crystal Lady, is a Reiki Master, Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming, and Deputy Editor of Planetlightworker.

Carol began her spiritual journey in West Texas where she first became acquainted with the metaphysical characteristics of crystals and stones. Having lived many of the past few years in San Diego, California, recently she returned to Texas to be near her family. From there she assists with Planetlightworker.com writing her popular monthly Crystal Oracle newsletter and Children of the New Earth Magazine while facilitating the connection between people and their crystal partners.

Carol also creates high vibrational crystal tools for deep healing and transformation work, and she dreams that someday such tools will be as common in people's homes as lightbulbs.

Deputy Editor: Vara LorEl Lyngklip

Never one to do things "normally," Vara was born at home in Chicago, IL. Frequent paranormal experiences, paired with a devoutly Christian upbringing in rural MN, drove this strong-willed child to esoteric reading.

At twenty, she loaded all her worldly possessions into her Mustang and moved to San Jose, CA. While working there as an Executive Administrator, she devoted her personal time to the study of archetypes in Mythology, I-Ching, and Shamanism. She also dabbled in Astrology, Numerology, and Tarot, as well as study of the Chakras and eastern philosophies.

Eleven years later, she again loaded her faithful Mustang and moved east with her two cats to Shelby County, KY. She now spends her free time rennovating a neglected farmhouse and exploring her childhood passion for drawing/design.

Deputy Editor: Richard Seymour

Prior to embarking on a career as a writer, Richard studied fashion design in London and worked for a short time as a bespoke tailor. Love saw him abandon this life in favour of a life of travel, which took him to such places as Africa, Europe and north America. What he picked up along the way he wanted to share, so he decided to write. A brief, but intense, course as a journalist set him up as a freelancer and he most commonly writes about Middle East affairs.

Like most journalists, Richard aspires to write a novel. Unlike most journalist, he actually has: a philosophical comedy which draws heavily on his interest in the ancient Chinese tradition of Taoism and also on his fascination with the esoteric nature of quantum physics.

He drinks tea (Earl Grey) all day long, can happily watch all five days of a cricket match, counts as his hero P.G. Wodehouse, has an aversion to shampoo that does not exactly match his hair type (Fine & Fragile) and is a fundamentalist on the correct use of the apostrophe.

Webmaster: Steve Hansen

Steve Hansen is a Cisco-trained network engineer and IT manager by profession, and a technical wizard by design.   When not working his “behind the scenes magic,” keeping the underpinnings of PlanetLightworker and Children of the New Earth Online Magazines oiled and working smoothly, Steve designs websites for private clients and spends his downtime indulging his favorite pastimes of photography, snowboarding and bicycle trials riding.

Technical Assistant: Gemma Hansen trained as a stage manager and lighting and recording technician at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA), and has worked on various theatrical and musical productions both on the London “fringe” circuit as well as in large theatre venues.   That said, Gemma considers her best and most worthwhile production to date - beyond the websites she also develops – to be the “making” of her one-year-old son, Joel.   In addition to teaching Joel about life on planet earth, and taking evening classes in sign language, Gemma handles a number of technical, artistic and administrative tasks for CNE magazine.

Inspirational Guide: Joel Lee Hansen
The youngest member of the New Earth Publications team, Joel plays a vital role in reminding us of the importance of play, and keeping us all (and most especially his “Nanna Sandie”) in touch with the innocence, purity, love and open-hearted inclusiveness that we all come into this world with.

Minister of Magic, Custodian of Dreams, Wizard of Wonders, and all-round Guardian Angel: Steve Ferguson

A very important member of the PLW & CNE team, there really is no word to describe the inestimable role that Steve Ferguson plays in strengthening the foundations of PLW and CNE magazines. His incredible generosity, unconditional love and support have become the mortar that holds the foundation stones of New Earth Publications together.
