Autobiography of a Spirit By Don P. Ferrari
Reviewed by Tys Dammeyer (AKA Outboundlight) Ferrari has taken information from a variety of sources and blended it into this story of a Spirit choosing to incarnate as a female child in order to help the world's transition into a higher frequency. The story is written on several different levels. Someone unfamiliar with metaphysical concepts can enjoy it as a fanciful play for the imagination without any pressure to accept the author's beliefs about reality... it is, after all, presented as fiction. A serious student of metaphysics will find much information here that is also presented in various channeled writings. I feel the greatest value of this book is the fact that it encourages the reader to look "through the eyes of a child" and expand his or her concepts of what children are capable of, as well as the kind of parenting that will best foster optimal development. As such, it complements the information in books like The Indigo Children by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober. The reader is given the opportunity to observe effective parenting techniques through the eyes of one being parented. The main character, Nica, also makes a number of observations about the parents of her friends and how her mother has managed to transcend some of the pitfalls other parents fall into. Some of the most important questions of our time are presented and explored in this book. One is the question of education... how does one best educate the "new children"? Another is the question of childhood sexuality, and, by implication, the nature of human sexuality. The nature of the political and economic system is touched upon, and the alternative of intentional community living is presented. In general, the book provides a positive view of our future without ignoring the many challenges that face our planet today. It occurred to me that if this book and/or others like it were required reading for every parent-to-be, we'd be sowing the seeds for a whole new approach to child-rearing. Exposure to the idea that children are souls with incredible wisdom and wonderful gifts would have an effect on the mass consciousness that would be far-reaching in its implications. Even if the conscious mind finds the information far-fetched, the higher mind of the individual will recognize the spiritual truths presented and perhaps "re-member" a little more of what life on this planet is really about.
