A READER RECENTLY WROTE in to PlanetLightworker with a concern: she was experiencing the distinct feeling that the great shift, which has been predicted to occur in 2011 by far-flung sources from the Kabbalah to classical western astrology to the Mayan Calendar to the Revelation of John to the proponents of the "pyramid inch", had arrived early and was occurring right now.

It seemed to her that this shift was in full spate, roaring into and transforming her life in an abrupt and challenging way. Were we, indeed, she asked, at the point of moving completely into the Age of Aquarius/the New Age/the Kingdom/Graduation Day?

I took the question to our contact from an extraterrestrial source, whom we call Q'uo, on April 11, 2007, in my capacity as channel for L/L Research. All the q'uotations in this article are from that session. Please feel free to read the session in its totality in the Library's Transcripts section on our web site, www.llresearch.org.

Q'uo says,

In the largest sense, this event has been building since well before the time of Jesus the Christ. This entity came to help the shift of the ages more than 2,000 years ago and this entity was already feeling the urgency of taking up the work and moving forward on choosing service to self or service to others as a way of life. That is how long people have been sensing the need to alter and shift their consciousness and the consciousness of the planet which is the location of their beloved home and of the tribe of humankind of which they are a cherished part.

I like their spacious point of view on this question, as I have been working with channeled material since 1962 as a researcher and since 1974 as a channel. It there is one thing that has occurred like clockwork, again and again, during this period, it is that groups and individuals will "get" and state that the shift has occurred or is occurring.

If the source of the prophesy is a positive one, the message appended is along the lines of what the Q'uo group offered in this session: each of us needs to shift our own consciousness. In a classic UFO-Bigfoot sighting in Pennsylvania in 1973, a seeming hologram appeared to a farmer and said, "If man on Earth does not straighten up, the end is near." And that is the positive side of this issue!

For service-to-self groups or mixed-polarity channels, the message can become urgent to the point of silliness. I remember reading one channeling in 1975 which called those following their teachings to make a camp in the wilderness to wait out the coming cataclysms, which they had predicted for 1977. "Be sure to include cattle," the channeling advised. "The children will need milk."

Such groups tend to be quite exclusive, believing, as do many such fundamentalist groups, that their information is the only good information and those who do not believe in their dogma, point by point, are destined to blink out of Earth and into Hell on the trump of Doomsday.

So I am prejudiced about this issue. When one has heard the same fear-and-doom-based messages repeating endlessly for 45 years, one ceases taking them seriously. I do not believe in Doomsday, unless we humans make it happen ourselves with our own nuclear Armageddon.

I do, however, believe that something quite substantial and literally earth-shaking is happening now. I believe it has been happening for quite a while. And I believe it is wonderful, positive and empowering. The Q'uo group says,

The timetable of your planet is a set one. The planet itself will completely shift into fourth density at the winter solstice of 2011. There is an area around this time that is not clock time because the change is not in space/time but in time/space. That penumbra, shall we say, of the time of shift began approximately in 1998.

So the reader asking this question is absolutely right. The time of shift is now, and has been "now" since about 1998. It is occurring as we speak. And according to Confederation philosophy (The Q'uo group source describes itself as being one of many group entities in a Confederation of Planets in the Service of the One Creator) that this time of shift will be ongoing right through 2011. We are in an extended present moment of the culmination of all our spiritual work on Earth.

While this extended moment lingers for these precious few more years, we have an increasing potential for clearing up our own energies and becoming part of the energies which are helping Planet Earth's shift into the New Age. They say,

It is in your hands. There are waves of energy coming at this planet, that you so lovingly enjoy, each and every day, every month, quarterly, yearly, and at times which are irregular but based upon time/space events rather than space/time events. In an irregular manner, however, they also offer unique and sometimes highly discomfiting waves of energy.

These are energies of the shining, glorious, honest truth. Embrace them insofar as you can. See how you might cooperate with these energies. If they bring things up in your life that you have not wanted to face, give yourself a smile, because you need it, and then sit down to do your work, my friends.

What is the work that they are suggesting we do? It is the work of waking up and getting a grip on the fact that the times are indeed changing. Time for decision-making is short.

If we want to pass on making the choice to love others and serve them, and instead simply trundle through life earning a living but refraining from doing spiritual work or getting involved in consciously creating our life, then we will die a natural death. And when we reincarnate, we will find ourselves upon another earth-like planet in what the Q'uo calls "third density", where we shall be able to take up the lessons of love once again for another whole cycle of third-density learning. That time period is merely another astrological Age, over 76,000 years or so.

If we do want to wake up and start making good, heart-opening choices, we have the perfect opportunity to do this.

The Q'uo folks feel that what we are up against in consciously creating our world as a loving one is a massive dose of old habits. Our planetary population, they say, is made up of all the planetary populations from other planets than Earth in our area of this galaxy which have not been able to achieve third-density harvest on their own planets. The people of Mars, Deneb, Sirius and the planet that is now the Asteroid Belt, among others, have all incarnated here on Earth to try once more to graduate into fourth density.

All of these planetary populations were unable to graduate on their own planets because of bellicose actions. They all eventually either blew their planets up or rendered them uninhabitable. So it is quite natural that even as far back as Atlantis and Babylon, our tribe of humankind was habitually used to solving perceived problems with violence. The Q'uo say,

You have experienced repeated waves of empire as they have flourished and fallen only to see another empire rise and fall, and another and another. If you look at your outer environment you may see these forces at work even now, moving in a repetitive manner, satisfying that portion of the tribe of humankind's deeper mind which is used to these energies and feels comfortable with them.

OK - that is what we are up against. That is our global mind-set. Look around. How many wars, large and small, are presently blighting the surface of our fragile island home? There are between five and ten wars in Africa going at all times in the last few decades. Wars have torn up Europe throughout the era of Christ and the United States has experienced civil war in the 18th and 19th centuries. Whether one looks at South America, the Orient or the Middle East, we can see the global tendency to forget reason and diplomacy and rely on the mailed fist of violence, rebellion and war.

We do not have to judge this situation, once we see it. We only need to acknowledge it and get its measure. This is the "before" picture. We are making our "after" picture. So things are far from hopeless, according to Q'uo.

The breaking forth of new light into this dark world is a common occurrence because the light cannot be put out by the darkness. And person after person after person has moments of brilliant insight in which they see that responding to violence with violence is not a wise move.

More and more of your entities are investing time, talent and treasure in finding different responses to the surrounding darkness based not upon the darkness itself but upon the light that comes from within the darkness and which the darkness cannot extinguish. Entities focus upon that first candle of light. And that tiny illumination illumines more. And then that illumines more. And a process of lightening the consciousness of yourself begins.

Note that the ET solution to this time of shift is not to run out and change the world. It is to change the self. And Q'uo is quite sure that we can indeed do this.

Each entity is the author of his particular creation. Admittedly, there are points of reference which are common to most people’s creations, including data about the society and the culture in which they live. Yet each entity's creation is his own. The biases that he encourages in his life become the biases of his world.

When you have achieved a sense of your own power and are dedicated to using that power rightly, you become a force beyond the normal run of human energy. Because you have awakened to your potential as the creator of your universe and because you have begun to enter into creating the universe as you feel you would wish it to be by acting in an ethical manner at times of choice, you begin to develop an energy about you that is the energy not only of your personality but of the creation which has become imagined into being within your life.

As you allow your light and your universe to shine, you are, in your beingness, fulfilling one of your deepest purposes: you are changing and shifting consciousness at the planetary level. We would emphasize that, at this level of perception, we are not speaking of those things which can be pointed to and spoken of in words. We are talking about the shift of a point of view.

To the Q'uo, it is all about attitude. What we decree in our own creation becomes true. Our job comes down to asking just a few questions of ourselves, and pursuing the answers to them:

Any spiritually oriented entity, once awakened to the situation of the present moment, has consulted those questions so important to spiritual seekers:

• Who am I?
• Why am I here?
• What should I be doing?

There comes a realization, either slowly or quickly, that the time for equivocation has passed and the time for spiritual work is now.

The time is coming and indeed is nigh at hand when something you might call a tipping point is imminent. And indeed it stands before you at this time. What is that tipping point? That tipping point is a straw vote, shall we say, an informal poll, if you will, of the tribes of humankind, to see if the majority of entities want to separate themselves forever from any path except violence or if they want to progress into fourth density and beyond.

Can we do this thing? The Confederation says, absolutely, yes, we can.

We are very hopeful. If that last moment were this very day, the straw poll indicates that your planet will rejoin the typical, normal progression of space/time.

Once you realize that you ride forth as a knight for the light, may your banners shine. May they speak of love, beauty, truth and compassion. May you polish your armor of light, with every decision you ever make to try to do your best and to serve the one infinite Creator.

And then go forth. Do not see yourself as one who fights against anything, but one who stands for the light. And let all of the gifts that are yours flow through you and out into the world. The time is now. The time has always been now.
