"May You Live In Interesting Times"

I THINK YOU MIGHT AGREE that we are living in truly remarkable times. People in some astrological circles have been saying that the anticipated time of peace, love, and brotherhood-sisterhood, known as the Age of Aquarius officially began on February 14. While it is true that there was a rare and impressive line up of planets in the sign of Aquarius on that day, I don't agree that any one day marks the beginning of an Age. Each Astrological Age, which spans approximately 2,300 years, dawns over the course of about 50-100 years. Our revolution of consciousness began in the late '60's of the last century, and will continue until about 2040, yet we are now at a pivotal time in that cycle. We are entering a new time, a New Age, in which all the old rules no longer apply and our lives will never be the same.

A New Landscape Emerges

Specifically how our lives are changing on an individual basis will show in your personal astrological chart, but there are some common themes. For instance, you may have become acutely aware of a discrepancy between what you know to be true in your heart and soul, and what your mind and ego proclaim as reality. Two eclipses, one in late January and one in early February, recently rocked our world with a startling awareness; what we think, how we see the world, and how we feel does indeed determine our reality. The sun entered visionary Pisces on February 18, throwing open a world of possibilities limited only by our imaginations. In these coming times, what we experience is what we have envisioned.

Dramatic Changes Awaken Us To Higher Truths

We enter the month of March having encountered a series of shocks from the dramatic changes that seem to be coming faster and faster. Fueled by the collapse of systems we have relied upon for centuries, these challenges are here to help awaken us to the truth of our inner being. As we become aware that we are living in our own self-created "movie," it is important to realize that we are also co-creating with billions of others throughout the world. Planetary aspects in early March beg the question, how can we create a mutually acceptable reality with and for everyone?

Venus Asks: How Healthy Are Your Relationships and Values?

This is the challenge of our times. Thankfully, we have a window of opportunity in which to contemplate this poignant question as the planet that symbolizes love, relationship, values and justice, Venus, begins retrograde ( apparent backwards ) motion in Aries on March 6. For the remainder of March and into the first half of April, we will be either inspired or compelled to review our current financial reality, complete any outstanding projects that involve monetary decisions and transactions, and put our finances in order. If there are dangling issues in our romantic relationships, they will need to be addressed now as well. The purpose of the Venus retrograde from March 6 until April 17 is to review our priorities and values, to complete unfinished business or outstanding creative projects, and to address ongoing relationship issues so that we emerge with a clearer picture financially as well as a heart at peace.

Unprecedented Changes Inspire Higher Awareness

A full moon on March 10 sheds light on an issue that humanity as a whole has been struggling with since last year. Given our current circumstances, how can we manifest our vision of a better future, and a more enlightened world? We seek to live a new paradigm that embraces the needs and dreams of all, yet allows us to gracefully meet our own needs and fulfill our personal desires. The world is going through an unprecedented series of changes that threaten the stability of generations to come unless action is taken now, yet it has been said that the problems we face today cannot be solved at the same level of consciousness in which we created them. What is needed now is a mass awakening; a shift in consciousness to a higher state of awareness from which solutions will become apparent.

Spring Equinox Opens Doorway To New Creation

On March 20, at the Spring Equinox, the sun completes its journey through Pisces, entering the fiery, action-oriented sign of Aries, and we arrive at the "astrological new year." As we approach the Spring Equinox on March 20, we can each do our part by acting upon our own truth, making the changes we know we must make in our own lives. We can help all of humanity by preparing a meditation that contains our vision for a more enlightened future. Hold that vision in your heart and energize it with love at the time of the Spring Equinox, which is on March 20 at 4:44 am PDT.
