Huge global challenges inspire important changes

As we enter the closing month of this momentous year and we survey the events that have shaped our life-experience, we may ask, are we pleased with what has been created? Many of my beloved clients have asked recently to understand the purpose behind the huge challenges the world is now facing. The purpose is simple: to inspire us to go deeper and reach higher for the keys to peace and prosperity. This month’s planetary aspects create a field of opportunity for us to take another leap into higher awareness.

Sagittarius leads search for life’s meaning

On November 21, the sun entered Sagittarius, the mutable fire sign that drives us to ponder the mysteries of the universe and search for life’s meaning. Emerging from the Scorpionic depths of healing and transformation, we now awaken to the dream in our soul. As the sun travels through Sagittarius this month, we find purpose; we set our sights higher, and we enthusiastically share our dawning wisdom. People born with the sun, moon or rising sign in Sagittarius become the potential voices of wisdom and way-showers for humanity.

Full moon brings high energy for new inspiration

We begin the month with a full moon in Gemini on December 1. Each month, the full moon brings the blossoming of a new theme and fulfillment of the intentions we set at the previous new moon. The new moon on November 16 brought the necessity of clearing old resentments or pain in our personal relationships. By the full moon on December 1, the clearing is complete. With love flowing again, and high energy moving to create with a fresh vision, we begin this month ready to fulfill our highest inspirations.

Positive energies inspire generosity and joy

Planetary energies in early December bring new ideas and fresh inspiration for ways to communicate love and gratitude, assisting us to find meaning through simple expressions of caring, generosity, and joyful, heart-felt sharing. Positive energies abound in early December, bringing romantic experiences, deep spiritual understanding, and inspiration for creative self-expression. We also find practical applications and innovative solutions to fulfilling our current work or business related goals.

New moon tests our alignment to purpose

A new moon in Sagittarius on December 16 carries forward the theme of high energy, creativity and loving interactions, but also brings a pause to adjust our alignment to purpose. Inherent in the new moon energies is the question: as I move my vision and objectives forward, am I clear in my motivations and methods? We can get carried away with inspired ideas and innovative methods, sometimes forgetting our originating purpose; at the mid-month new moon, the universe provides a check-in point that allows us to realign with our highest purpose, or redirect energy if necessary.

Winter Solstice catalyzes healing; new beginning

The sun completes its journey through Sagittarius, entering Capricorn on December 21, at, (in the northern hemisphere), the Winter Solstice. When this happens, we reach another turning point. As the sun leaves the jovial, truth-seeking sign of Sagittarius to enter the more serious and goal-oriented earth sign of Capricorn, we pause again to consider our course. The sun joins powerful Pluto, also in Capricorn, and both of them face a dynamic aspect with Saturn in Libra, bringing issues that need clearing in our work, business, and love life to the surface. We become aware of whatever needs healing in our relationships, so we can clear old pain, misunderstandings or resentments, freeing our energy for high-level creation.

Mars review highlights needed completions or changes

The planet that symbolizes our work in the world, Mars, turns retrograde (apparent backwards motion) in Leo on December 20. Mars goes retrograde once every two years, and lasts for approximately three months, during which we review our work, professional life, or business. Mars retrograde is a very poor time to implement new plans, launch anything new (new product or service), change jobs, or switch careers. During the Mars review, we become aware of any changes that need to be made, we complete old business, and we may do research and/or future planning based on information gathered during the review.

End of the year aspects converge powerfully for new birth

On December 26, Mercury, the planet of communications, turns retrograde in Capricorn, until January 15. While Mercury is retrograde, we complete unfinished communications, and we often find that equipment related to transportation or communication needs servicing. Since Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn, we will be reviewing and updating our systems. We begin the New Year with both Mars and Mercury in retrograde, indicating that 2010 will be a year of much communications review and systems re-working before we can really move forward from our current personal and global situation. A lunar eclipse on December 31 underscores this theme, indicating much transformation and big changes are in store for the coming year. While we tolerate the “birth pains,” let’s celebrate the dawning of a new, global unified consciousness.

For December, the very best days to start new projects or relationships, acquire new clients, launch a creative project, apply for a new job, list your house for sale, and generally start anything new are: December 10, 15, and 17.

The following days are also very good days in which we may expect positive outcomes with existing projects: December 3-4, and 12-14. You can also expect reasonably good results on the 1, 6, 9, and 11.

Use the very best days to start anything new. Use the very good days and the reasonably good days to further important projects, businesses, and relationships, and avoid making any new starts on the remaining days, especially from December 20-31. These days are best spent refining what is already in motion.
