Virgo perfects everything she touches The sun entered the earth sign, Virgo, on August 22, and will travel there until the Autumn Equinox on September 22. Virgo signals the completion of the Summer season, preparing us for the increased activity that comes in the Fall. A mutable, feminine, earth sign, Virgo brings the harvesting of all that has been planted and cultivated in the Spring and Summer. Virgo people have a great sense of discrimination, a sharp analytical ability, and a gift for knowing what needs improvement. Symbolized by the virgin holding a bundle of wheat, Virgo separates the wheat from the chaff, improving and perfecting everything she touches. Pisces full moon challenges our principles. Every full moon brings something to fruition, and this month begins with a full moon in Pisces on September 2. Bringing the qualities of refinement, acceptance, and nurturing, Pisces moon embodies the grace to appreciate the abundance in our lives. This full moon also highlights a larger cycle that has been occurring for many months, which is the planetary tension between Saturn opposite Pluto. While Saturn in Gemini challenges us to be very clear in our communication with others, Pluto in Sagittarius demands that we stay true to our principles. The full moon is poised in a dynamic angle to the Saturn and Pluto opposition, bringing pressure during the first week of September to reassess our principles, beliefs, and values, and to appreciate the creative power of our words. Creative energy is bountiful in September The remainder of the month promises to be quite smooth with several positive planetary aspects bringing much good fortune. Jupiter in Cancer brings opportunities to improve our health and strengthen our families, while Venus in Leo helps us to be very clear about our heart's desire, and brings a surge of creative inspiration. Mercury in Libra keeps our communication balanced and harmonious and our imagination soaring, while Saturn in Gemini helps to ground all the creative energy this month, showing us practical outlets for innovative ideas. Virgo new moon brings "house cleaning" On September 17 we have a new moon in Virgo, which begins to set the stage for the coming Autumn Equinox. Each new moon symbolically holds the seed for the new four-week cycle, and a Virgo new moon brings the energy of assimilation and purification. A good "house cleaning" may be in order, and that may include your home, or internal cleansing with a juice fast, or it could be spiritual purification, like a sweat lodge or meditation retreat. Use the energy of the new moon to create a new beginning somewhere in your life. The Autumn Equinox is a time to celebrate The sun enters Libra at the Autumn Equinox on September 22, marking the beginning of a new three-month cycle, which will be characterized by positive, flowing communication, friendship and creative ideas. The Autumn Equinox is traditionally a time of exultation, a time to celebrate the bountiful harvest and enjoy the richness of the earth. At the Autumn equinox, the days and nights are perfectly balanced, symbolized by the woman holding the scales in Libra. The Fall season is the time to bring our lives into balance and our relationships into harmony. Venus and Mars join in a very harmonious triangle from September 20 until mid-October, making this also a wonderful time for love and romance. In the last week of September, plan to do something special to nurture your relationships and bring even more love into your life, and the lives of others. This is a joyful time...a time to celebrate! Sun Signs for September 2001
