By Carolina Eastwood January 2001 A Time for Inner Reflection Profound changes on the horizon As the new year approaches we begin to look ahead to the experiences we wish to have in the future. This year, the Universe gives us a powerful boost of energy and momentum with a Solar Eclipse on December 25, followed by a Lunar Eclipse on January 9. In contrast to a regular monthly new moon or full moon that brings subtle fluctuations in our life experience, eclipses bring changes of greater magnitude into our lives. The joyous love of life The sun entered Capricorn on December 21 and traveled four days to meet the moon and Mercury in a Solar Eclipse on December 25. Viewed through the Human Design System, the keynote for this day is "the joyous love of life." (The Human Design System is a relatively new synthesis of many of the worlds' great esoteric systems along with modern physics. For more information, see Chetan Parkyn's article on Human Design and relationships in this issue, or visit www.earthstarconsulting.com.) When the eclipse happens, it releases this keynote, and, depending on where the eclipse falls in one's natal astrological chart, some area of our life will be powerfully touched. It may be our career, our health, finances, family, or romance, but the essence of this eclipse conveys how vitally important it is to bring aliveness, enthusiasm, and love into our life. A Personal Revolution Discovering what brings happiness For the entire month of January, we are deeply affected, not only by two powerful eclipses, but also by a glorious triangle of energy between Venus in Pisces, Mars in Scorpio, and the moon's north node in Cancer, bringing us the possibility of great love and harmony. This is the time to discover what brings us happiness in life. Throughout most of the month, the sun in Capricorn along with the planet of communication, Mercury, bring us support and empowerment to actualize our goals. Celebrating change A Lunar Eclipse with the moon in Cancer, opposite the sun in Capricorn, occurs on January 9, bringing more changes, this time in the nature and form of how we live our lives. If the Solar Eclipse in late December asked us to do some soul searching, the Lunar Eclipse prompts us to actually make the changes we know are necessary. We must let go of the old and allow transformation to occur if something new is to emerge. This can be joyous, if we will celebrate the changes. The dream is now On January 20, the sun leaves Capricorn, entering the sign of brotherhood-sisterhood, Aquarius, where we can actualize the eclipse themes by stepping into our new reality. A new moon in Aquarius, working with the energy of the mystical planet, Neptune, occurs on January 24, setting a theme of love and cooperation in motion for the coming four weeks. The last week of January finds us facing any lingering fears or doubts, and hopefully, making the positive changes we have envisioned since last summer. Sun Signs for January 2001 Please
note: Although this is written for the month of January, the themes
mentioned for your sun sign also characterize your essential theme for
the coming year.
