in Sagittarius and a total solar eclipse
ON
NOVEMBER 22, THE SUN LEFT THE POWERFUL, TRANSFORMATIVE SIGN of
Scorpio and entered the freedom loving sign of the Centaur, Sagittarius.
This movement into Sagittarius usually comes as a welcome relief after
Scorpio has taken us into the depths of our psyche, deep into our subconscious
and unconscious patterns for our yearly purifying and healing process.
We may experience it differently this year, however, as the sun's entry
into jovial Sagittarius is accompanied by a total Solar Eclipse on November
23.
Transcending
desires
Sagittarius
represents the human capacity to transcend our desire nature, reach
into higher levels of awareness, and expand our consciousness. Driven
by a deep urge to understand the meaning and substance of life, people
born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Sagittarius venture into
uncharted territory, both physically and psychically. The total solar
eclipse in Sagittarius brings a major shift in consciousness for everyone,
but will be especially powerful for people with planets in the early
degrees of Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces.
Solar
eclipse sets the stage for the coming six months
Solar
eclipses bring changes at the core level of our being, and a total eclipse
is especially powerful, with effects lasting as long as six months following
the event. As we experience the eclipse in late November, the effects
are naturally carried over into the month of December, which is our
primary time to “digest” and integrate the coming changes.
With the giant planet, Uranus in critical arc to the eclipse point,
this solar eclipse in Sagittarius is an abrupt wake-up call. For those
of us who have been cruising through life on “automatic pilot”,
doing what has been expected of us, being hypnotized by television,
and embracing unexamined cultural beliefs and paradigms, the awakening
may be a rude one.
Eclipses
Bring Awakening to Higher Awareness
We
are moving into the Age of Aquarius, which brings an epoch of self-realization.
It will be imperative to take personal responsibility for the quality
of our lives, our consciousness, and our relationships. Extraordinary
planetary configurations last month, including two eclipses, have set
the stage across the world for a new wave of awakening to higher spiritual
consciousness. As the old paradigms fall away, many will become disenchanted
with their livelihoods, and will choose new careers and lifestyles that
bring more meaning and fulfillment.
Full
Moon lights the way for clear choices
A
full moon in Gemini on December 8 highlights an array of new lifestyles,
or entirely new directions that emerge as we define and refine our vision
for the life we truly want to live. If we feel overloaded with options,
the right path will always be to follow our hearts and highest vision.
It is not possible to be deeply satisfied unless our life has meaning,
and meaning comes from being in touch with our core essence and allowing
our life to unfold from that place of deepest truth. Aligning our values
with our hearts' wisdom and courageously choosing a new path in life
will bring great healing and expansion of consciousness as 2003 draws
to a close.
Retrograde
Mercury brings review of life-purpose
The planet
of communication, Mercury, currently in resourceful Capricorn, turns
retrograde (apparent backwards motion) on December 17. Remaining retrograde
for three weeks until January 6, Mercury gives us an opportunity to
review our life's purpose and the impact we are making in the world
with the work that we do. As our consciousness is awakening, the wisdom
of our soul is more easily accessed, but it is up to each one of us
to follow that inner wisdom. The choices we make now will impact our
lives for decades to come. Use this holiday time wisely to meditate,
hear your soul's wisdom and contemplate how you can create your life
to more clearly reflect your inner truth.
Solstice
offers time of deep contemplation
The
Winter Solstice occurs on December 21-22 as the sun enters Capricorn.
In ancient wisdom traditions, the Solstice is a time of deep contemplation
for connection with Spirit to receive direction for the coming season.
There was great wisdom in this tradition, and it is something we can
all benefit from today. As the sun leaves Sagittarius, we bring the
vision and inspiration we have received into the form and structure
that Capricorn so easily creates. Capricorn gives our vision form so
it can be manifested in the world.
New
Moon reminds us what is most important
The
new moon in Capricorn on December 23 sets the stage for the next four
weeks, bringing our attention to the essentials in life: our most intimate
relationships, home and family, meaningful work, and enlightened awareness.
A new Age Is being born and, despite the challenges of our times, we
have much to be thankful for. Gratitude is the key for awakening our
joyful spiritual essence. As we celebrate the holiday season with family
and loved ones this year, let us focus on what is right and good in
our world, in ourselves, and in each other and let us send healing energy
and Light to all of those in need. In your meditations, imagine a world
with no fear and pain, only love and creativity and joy…..this
