Scorpio initiates a purification cycle

The sun completed its journey through Libra and entered Scorpio on October 22, initiating our yearly psychological cleansing and purifying cycle. Ruled by Mars and Pluto, Scorpio symbolizes the process of transformation that each soul must undergo to reach a greater state of wisdom and enlightenment. Scorpio is the only sign that has three symbols; the scorpion, the eagle, and the phoenix, depicting the stages of growth and transformation a soul can traverse in one lifetime.

Transformation brings rebirth into soul consciousness

Planetary challenges give way to new moon opportunities

Following a suspenseful, and perhaps frustrating election process in America, a difficult aspect between Mars and Saturn on November 5 and 6 has many of us feeling as if we are “driving with the brakes on” as Saturn's caution faces off with Mars' impulsiveness. This difficulty is resolved by following our inner truth and guidance in making decisions. A new moon in Scorpio occurs on November 12, opening up a new, 28-day cycle of opportunity for personal growth. A favorable aspect from Saturn, the “lord of Karma”, supports healing and transformation of the emotional body, and facilitates releasing old patterns of familial relating. Late November brings relationship challenges

Venus, the planet symbolizing love, relationship and beauty begins forming a difficult aspect with Saturn mid-month, and builds to a release point on November 19. This aspect can feel constricting and cold, as it inhibits Venus's natural warmth, but can also bring greater wisdom by revealing our unconscious patterns in love relationships. Jupiter and Mercury assist by making the knowledge necessary for transformation readily available.

Sun enters Sagittarius to meet full moon in Gemini

On November 21, the sun completes its transit of Scorpio, and we voyage, often with a sense of relief, into the lighter, more hopeful sign of Sagittarius. Ruled by expansive Jupiter, Sagittarius takes us into the realm of higher thought, philosophy and religion or spirituality. On November 26, we have a full moon in Gemini, opposite the sun in Sagittarius, highlighting our ability to reach into the sublime levels of awareness and have a profound understanding of the world we live in. As the month draws to a close, on November 30, Mercury, the planet ruling communications, turns retrograde (apparent backwards motion) in Sagittarius, signaling a time of greater inner contemplation before taking action.
