Psychic, sensitive Pisces seeks the highest in all

THE SUN ENTERED the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces, on February 18, bringing us to the end of the astrological year.  A mutable, yin, water sign, Pisces is receptive, sensitive, psychic, and often artistically talented.  People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Pisces are here to live a life of surrender, letting go of the will to control outcomes and trusting in the divine perfection of life as it unfolds naturally.  But this is easier said than done in modern-day culture with the pressure to perform, to excel, and to compete.  Extremely sensitive, with quickly shifting moods, Pisces people can be an enigma to others as they can be on the one hand enormously talented and wise people, yet quixotic, and sometimes self-defeating in their extreme disappointment that humans don't live up to the high potential that Pisces can see within them.

New Moon in Pisces stirs desire for spiritual fulfillment

At the end of February, on the 27, we had a new moon in Pisces that set the stage for general themes we will experience in the next few weeks.  Coupled with the revolutionary planet, Uranus, known as "the great awakener", the new moon provides a jolt of awareness, stirring in our souls the desire to live fully awakened to our Spirit as we move through our earthly existence.  Yet the ego, or the lower self, has its desires and may create numerous distractions to keep us from turning inward to the essence of our being.  Practicing the art of inner contemplation with prayer or meditation will help to create and maintain balance between the higher and lower aspects of our human nature.

Planetary changes support inner reflection

On March 2, Mercury, the planet of communication, turns retrograde (apparent backwards motion) in Pisces, signaling a time meant for inner reflection, though few of us in Western culture will actually follow that rhythm.  The reflection is meant to provide understanding and insight, helping us to develop wisdom, thus progressing in our spiritual awakening.  During the three weeks Mercury is retrograde, we are guided to turn our attention to tasks and communication that have been left undone from the past, bringing those affairs to completion before we can move on with new creativity.  Jupiter, the planet that brings us the principle of expansion and growth, currently in Scorpio, turns retrograde on March 4, slowing progress and curtailing some of our newest projects as we turn our attention to details and issues that must be handled before those projects will take root and prosper.  Jupiter's retrograde lasts until July 6, and if used wisely, can lay the groundwork for future expansion.

Lunar eclipse brings a turning point in our spiritual path

As the sun moves through Pisces in March, it enters a challenging aspect with transformative Pluto in Sagittarius.  On a continuing upward spiral, Pluto takes us through symbolic cycles of birth, death, and transformation.  As we reach for the highest in ourselves, we must confront the darkest part of our nature to attain access to the sublime.   On March 14, we have a full moon, lunar eclipse in Virgo, opposite the sun in Pisces, and in a difficult "square" (right angle) with Pluto.  Squares hold and build tension, releasing a dynamic force that creates movement, or change.  We can expect this eclipse to precipitate quite significant changes in our lives, particularly in the realm of our philosophical or spiritual beliefs, our sense of justice, and our deep longing to be united in the bliss of spiritual oneness, juxtaposed against our daily habits and rituals.

Spring Equinox brings renewed energy for creativity

The sun completes its journey through Pisces, entering the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, and initiating the Spring Equinox on March 20.  This is the astrological New Year, as we begin a new, twelve-month cycle of development that takes us through twelve progressive stages of growth.  The first of those, Aries, brings new birth, new ideas, a renewed spurt of energy and enthusiasm for new creations.  Aries is about beginnings.  It provides a thrust of life-force energy powerful enough to propel a human baby into the world, a new shoot of grass from the earth, or an idea or vision into form.

Solar eclipse in Aries aims us at new objectives

On March 29, we have a new moon, solar eclipse in Aries.  Mercury has resumed direct motion on March 25, freeing energy, and the eclipse aims us at new objectives, or brings a renewal of energy for projects and activities that promote our growth.  Solar eclipses bring change at very deep, internal levels, and this one brings us to the root of our motivations for creative expression.  The seeds we plant this spring will need to be nurtured and developed all year long, and beyond; the eclipse asks us to make sure we are planting the right thing.  If our new creation is congruent with our being, resonant with our soul purpose, and aligned with the highest good for all concerned, it will grow and prosper beautifully.

The full moon eclipse in your house of health
focuses attention on your habitual daily routines.  You will be compelled in the next few months to change and improve your eating, sleeping and exercise habits, as your physical body needs to align with your recent changes in consciousness and awakening to spirituality which require a higher, more refined energy.  You may feel restless mid-month, but resist the temptation to create change just for the sake of change; instead, focus your energy on worthwhile goals.

The lunar eclipse brings a course-correction,
inspiring you to review your long-term goals.  Mutually held resources necessary to accomplish your goals will not be available until all parties are aligned in purpose and vision.  You may need to facilitate group discussion to clarify the issues, make changes where necessary, and outline a new or amended direction.  Partners are very supportive, and the necessary financial resources become available once a consensus is reached.

re-orientation
in your home and family life precipitated by new career opportunities, or changes in your existing workplace.  Unusual demands in your daily routines have strained your health, and you find new, more wholesome forms of nutrition, exercise and relaxation help to restore balance.  You experience a spurt of new creative inspiration, and may find yourself spending leisure time writing, drawing, dancing, playing music, or in some other creative pursuit.

You are inspired by the lunar eclipse
to pursue experiences that will open your horizons through higher education, long distance travel, or spiritual and philosophical inquiry.  This may precipitate a seemingly inconvenient change in your daily routines, but new priorities will require that adjustments be made to accommodate the spiritual growth that is on your horizon.  Support comes from unexpected places and creativity flows freely this month.

The lunar eclipse brings changes
in your financial
realities that influence decisions over mutually held assets or resources.  Saturn in your sign continues to constrict flow, encouraging you to consolidate energy and use discretion in your choice of activities, ensuring that all of your actions are congruent with your life purpose and current objectives.  Friends, lovers, and group associations provide much pleasure and artistic inspiration.

Breakthroughs in spiritual understanding are possible
this month with the full moon eclipse shedding light on karmic residue that can now be resolved.  Long-standing issues with people in your life, including relatives, neighbors or friends, come to the surface for clearing.  This is a good month for cleaning out your physical space as well; getting closets, storage areas, and garages clear of clutter and organized will free mental energy for creative pursuits.

The mid-month lunar eclipse brings a change of direction and new goals emerge as you reevaluate your priorities.  Saturn will be in your career arena for the next 18 months, assisting you to bring more discipline, focus and structure to your work as you build your career or expand your business.  While many current activities are up for review, and some will be dropped in favor of others, the floodgates open for creative projects that can be a lot of fun.

You experience changes in your career that will impact your home and family life following the mid-month lunar eclipse.  These changes may take a few weeks to emerge, and it can be months before the changes are solidified, but do welcome them as they bring positive transformation that will eventually lead to greater harmony with partners and relatives.  The new direction also facilitates a deepening of spiritual awareness and expansion of consciousness.

The full moon eclipse impacts
your life-philosophy, urging you to search deeply for meaning and a sense of purpose beyond your daily affairs.  Involvement in group-oriented activities that share a common vision will open you to new possibilities as you interact and communicate with others of like mind.  Avoid giving into feelings of restlessness at work, and keep your energy focused upon goals that bring financial increase along with a great sense of personal satisfaction.

The mid-month lunar eclipse sheds light on financial
realities that must be addressed soon.  Current circumstances lead you to make significant changes in your long-term goals, and perhaps change your circle of friends and associates at the same time.  On high note, creativity flows beautifully this month, and career opportunities begin to blossom.
