Libra Symbolizes Balance, Fairness and Justice

THE SUN ENTERED LIBRA on September 22, heralding the Autumnal Equinox, a time when the days and nights are equal in length, balanced. The symbol for Libra is a person holding the scales of justice, achieving a tenuous balance that must continually make slight adjustments to maintain the balance. Ruled by the planet Venus, Libra symbolizes the human need and desire for beauty, harmony, fairness, and love.

Loveable Libra People Are Very Fond Of Leisure, Beauty and Romance

People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Libra are relationship-oriented. Romantic, charming and naturally likeable, Libra’s often have a wide social network, and can bring together the most disparate groups of individuals with their friendly, outgoing nature. If caught off-balance, or if their good nature is being taken for granted, however, one can see the other side of their nature, Libra’s can become quite ill-tempered. Libra’s are fond of leisure, and are sometimes considered lazy by others who do not understand their need for ease and beauty.

Relationship and Other Issues Surface For Debate; Resolution

We just had a new moon in Libra on September 29 that began a four-week cycle of inquiry into the nature of our relationships and the true value of the things we hold dear. Punctuated by the fact that Mercury, also in Libra, is retrograde (apparent backwards motion) for the first half of October, we can expect to be putting more attention than usual on the quality of communication in our relationships. With Mars also in Libra and conjunct Mercury, we may experience a dynamic surge of interest in debating issues that are of concern. Mystical Neptune potentially adds a harmonizing tone to the debate, offering a “loftier” view by adding spiritual insight.

Full Moon Illuminates Values and Brings Creative Solutions

On October 14, we have a full moon in Aries, opposite the sun in Libra, which highlights the issues of the month. We will see that some values are simply no longer relevant, that we need to begin a different relationship with our personal and global resources, and that only through raising our consciousness can we solve today’s problems. Whether we are addressing our own life or are concerned with humanity as a whole, as we let go of fear, creative and innovative solutions become available. The planet of communication, Mercury, returns to direct motion on October 15. If we have completed the relationship concerns of the past three weeks, we will be free to move forward with new plans.

Scorpio Brings Transformation That Has Global Significance

The sun completes its journey through Libra when the sun enters Scorpio on October 22. On a personal level, Scorpio takes us deeply into our psyche for healing, transformation and greater awareness. On a global level, we enter the “eye of the storm” with an aspect that has been building all year, Saturn in Virgo opposite Uranus in Pisces. Saturn brings our most compelling life-lessons and Uranus shakes us out of our comfort zone, awakening us to higher states of reality. Serendipitously, this aspect reaches its exact apex on the day of the USA elections, November 4. Perhaps it will inspire us to rise above differences and heal our nation and world.

The very best days to further your life or start new projects or relationships, acquire new clients, launch a creative project, apply for a new job, list your house for sale, and generally start anything new (PDT).

While there are no excellent days this month, there are several very good ones:

  • October 26-29 and 31

The following days still have Mercury retrograde, so one is cautioned against starting a new business or getting married, but are still very good days to expect positive outcomes:

  • October 7, 9, 11 and 13

You can also expect reasonably good results on:

  • October 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14.

Use the very best days to start anything new. Use the very good days to further important projects, businesses, and relationships, and avoid making any new starts on the remaining days.
