2006 IS AN 8 UNIVERSAL year. That means that it will be an intense time period in which the earth, countries, and individuals must strive for balance. Efforts to that effect made in the past now reap results that can be auspicious and bring about powerful advancement. However, when things have been avoided, it is a time of reckoning and payment is now due.

Look at the physical shape of the #8. It tells exactly how we must handle this energy. The loops of inner/outer, material/spiritual must come into balance and harmony. We are not either/or; we are the two interdependent loops that require equal flow between both sides or the imbalance will cause conflict. We are either running in circles demonstrated by each loop in the #8 when kept separate, or we are circulating energy equally as we trace the 8 as one continuous flowing line that completes itself.

If you turn #8 on its side, you have the sign of infinity... the potential is that - as we monitor our emotional reaction to events and find an inner place of peace that is untouched by what appears to be on the surface - the loops become smaller and smaller until they appear to be absorbed in a oneness that is likened to the power of atomic energy.

This is a momentous time with powerful implications. So, regardless of what our personal year number is, we must take the universal implication seriously and do our best to find balance and harmony within our own lives and project that into the world at large.

To find out how 2006 influences your life, add the month and day of your birth to the number 8 and then add the numbers together until you have one digit between 1 and 9 remaining. Examples: Birthday: November 7. We add 11 (mo) + 7 (day) + 8 (___ year) = 26. 2+6= 8. This person’s year is the same as the universal year for 2006. Another example: Feb. 1. We add 2 + 1 + 8 = 11. 1+1= 2. This person’s number for 2006 is 2.

Each month you may check your personal number
in the Numbers By Design column below for insights
and suggestions to assist you in making the
most of the possibilities presented in your life.

1

Beginnings and endings... this month provides the opportunity for completing and releasing what no longer serves your life or movement forward. Let go, let God place the opportunities, the people, the attitudes, and the blessings in your path. By releasing your attachment to what confines you, you open yourself to the bigger picture of what is in store for your future. This is a year of new beginnings, and this is a month of finalizing what now needs to be released. Bury the dead that the living may live... it is a bold statement that has great significance at this time.

2

The yin/yang principle confronts you now. You moving forward as a unique human being, and you in partnership. How to reconcile differences while still holding true to yourself. This month requires that you open doors, make necessary connections for the future, and assert your position in a way that is non-threatening, but decisive. Paradox, eh? Yes. Always. Follow the clues and open the doors that provide opportunity to be more of who you were meant to be, while communing with the angels of your better nature so that what you bring forth remembers the wellbeing and dignity of everyone concerned.

3

You as dancing bear, you as insightful guru... it's an interesting month of possibilities and duality. Open your third eye and allow illumined and inspired insights to penetrate you to core. Also, remember that you are the creative, joyous force this year - allowing your full expression to blossom. Who are the nay sayers? Who is your cheering section? Choose those with whom you share mutual care and nourishment. Leave the rest, for there are those who would suck you dry without concern. Choose life giving qualities, not drama kings and queens. Awareness and awakenings are possible in this very interesting month of know/not know.

4
Safety/Freedom - the opposition of the two little pigs who want to play, versus the practical pig who wants everything built with care and an eye to detail. You need to overcome the part that is the taskmaster this month and side with the playful, joyous, frivolous part of your nature that wants to express itself without inhibition or restriction. You can create your own melody, work of art, or inspire, enfire, and motivate those to whom you are sent as Sales Force One. Regardless of how it looks, this month you need to allow the stage lights to go up on your act - and to perform without fear that the party poopers squelch your joy. Claim it, and enjoy letting yourself be!
5
Freedom/structure. You have an overriding desire to get on with it, keep the ball rolling, and let life take you wherever it will. Yet, there are restrictions this month. Bills to be paid, assessments to be made, checking the strength of the foundations upon which you stand. As you are willing to look at what needs attending, lots can be accomplished. When you avoid, you are tightening the noose. Some things must be attended to, and the more you are willing to shoulder responsibility and do what needs doing, the better off you will be as the month comes to conclusion. There is opportunity to transform an old habit or move into an entirely upgraded condition - so don't hesitate to push beyond your own limitations!
6
Freedom/Responsibility. Although the year is mostly about you caring for others and paying attention to health, relationships, and responsibility, during August there is a drive for freedom. Restlessness and a desire to break free from constraints may cause you to make decisions you later regret. Take a trip, do things that bring more expansiveness to your life, but don't make major decisions based on this momentary feeling. It will pass when the month is over. In the meantime, assess where you can adjust limiting circumstances, enjoy interactions and contacts with many, and excel in diversity. The month is a moveable feast, so enjoy!
7
Introspection/Caring for others. The year pushes you to deeper inner awareness, and may present a few opportunities to redo something from the past or connect with someone significant for the future. This month, the focus is on family, responsibility, the wants and needs of others in your life, and your own expectations about how things "should" be. As you open your heart and give of yourself without judgment, it can be a very rewarding month. However, when you determine that everyone and everything should match your idea of what they "should" be, there can be fireworks. Health issues flare up to be reconciled through looking at how you are eating and what is eating you. Develop compassion for yourself and others - live and let live, and take care of the body you inhabit. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not belabored... so do what is necessary to make the experience a pleasant one for all concerned.
8
Take time to look at your spiritual roots this month. In a year that requires balance and more harmony, August provides opportunities to look more deeply within yourself to assess where you are flowing with Spirit, and where you are blocked, or off the mark. It's a wonderful time for retreat or specialized areas of interest. Working in the garden, being with nature - these are the things that restore the soul during this time. Too much activity and too many people can be disruptive to your energy field, so be selective and make sure you choose what you do with an eye to quality and its function in enhancing your life.
9
Focus on where your life flows and where it is disrupted - then do what is necessary to see yourself as a system of energy that needs to be perfectly balanced. As you allow the various facets of your nature to have a voice, you can find out where the conflicts and disruptions are. When you give ALL of yourself dignity of its perception, and engage it in updating to provide what is needed now in your life - not what you needed when you were younger - there can be significant breakthroughs and growth that occurs. Harness the strength of your mental potential at this time and watch as you slay the dragons of unconsciousness!

WHAT ARE YOUR GIFTS IN THE YEAR 2006?

1
This year requires you to be self-reliant and decisive as to how you want to move forward. What have you learned from the past, and what needs to be released in order for you to move ahead? 2006 signals a new nine year cycle in your life, and the less baggage you have from the past, the more room there is for enriching opportunities that propel you into leadership or entrepreneurial positions, or into situations where you need to stand up and let your opinion be known. Pay attention to new ideas, strike ahead in directions that involve adventure and willingness to risk - but as you do, listen to the still, small voice within that seeks to direct you on a path that recognizes the importance of leading with wisdom, not out of impulsiveness or brute force. Give others the dignity of their input, even though you must make the final decision in the end. When you move forward, make sure it is an ethical manner and that you are remembering to follow the Golden Rule that you do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
2
You have planted seeds and now there is a powerful force that requires patience and perhaps even a waiting game as this is a time of germination in one sense. Incubation, discernment, pregnancy - everything connected to your sense of timing. Who supports you and who depletes you? Where are your choices enhancing your life and where do you sabotage yourself? 2006 offers you opportunities to sort things out and to bring the lens of inquiry into stronger focus - looking at the details of your life and the way you go about it. Excellence is the requirement - don't try to gloss over steps, and remember that kindness to others is not weakness, it is the mark of someone who has a large spirit and big heart. However, kindness does not mean being a doormat. It's important to weed through what stifles. Open to higher realms of insight and you can have brilliant flashes of inspiration. You can also feel a major disconnect with yourself or others from time to time - so keep the inner light burning bright. That way if the outer lights are dim, your inner glow will see you through to triumph!
3
Patience was required last year, but now it's time to reach out and deliver your perspective, your art work, your music, the ability to inspire, your laughter, your sales pitch, your childlike sense of wonder - all things expressive and creative. If there are emotional issues that arise, don't let yourself be overwhelmed by other people's stuff. Life wants you to be a star this year, and it's not about abandoning those you love, it's about recognizing who is encouraging and who is critical, and leaving the critical ones alone for a while. You can always walk back into the lion's den later! Beautify your life, your thoughts, your work, and yourself. It's a wonderful opportunity to attract some very lovely things into your life - and also a bit of magic. Take the best of what is offered and make something imaginative of the rest!
4
Imagination and creative ideas may have flourished last year. Now it's time to make something tangible and real of them. This year is about building foundations for the future and undoing foundations that are wobbly or don't work. So there is an element of rebirth to the year, and your level of willingness to risk to the unknown will determine just how far you will fly. It isn't about tearing things down capriciously or rebuilding without purpose, it is about recognizing where the boxes you find yourself in are too small and limit your movement forward. You can achieve a larger reality by moving beyond your fears and self-imposed barriers. Believe in yourself and associate with those who encourage your growth. Many things are possible, and slow and steady is the best path to achievement at this time. Rites of passage are also part of this time period, so you may experience births, deaths, marriage or divorce during the year. Everything is pushing you to recognize that life is growth and movement. Standing still is not an option.
5
Last year required slow growth and establishing a stronger foundation. Now it's time to open your arms to experiencing shifts and changes that can be invigorating and propel you into larger arenas or spurts of activity. There is an unsettled quality to this time period. The more adventurous you are, the more pleasant it will be. If you like things to remain static and safe, then the year may push you out of your comfort zone through events that require adaptability. It's a grand opportunity to expand your horizons, meet new people, travel, explore ideas and information, and feel like an adolescent - regardless of your age. On the other hand, you are advised to read fine print on all contract agreements, make sure you think large purchases through before buying, and be discerning when others try to sell you something. There may be less than honorable intentions on the part of someone, so make sure you aren't a pawn in their game by being clear about your own motivation for what you do. That said, rev up your engine and get ready to go. Enjoy the journey!
6
Whereas last year had a hyperactive undertone, this year pushes you to be more concerned about your image and how other people perceive you. Values, family, health, responsibility, standing in the community - all are part of this year's focus. As you give of yourself with a loving heart, you receive a great deal in return. When you feel resentment at having to do things that are seemingly endless duties or obligations, your actions will be met in kind. So... the key to 2006 is to find your way to loving action. If something feels overwhelming or there are those who take advantage of you, it's time to find replacements for yourself. Let it be known what you are willing (and un-) to do, and do it from a place of respect for yourself and others, not defensiveness. Be honest with yourself so that martyrdom does not enter. As you do those things that bring more light into your life, health improves, relationships prosper, and you reap rewards that can be enhancing and unanticipated.
7
Prepare to take time for yourself. The cares of others may have encroached last year, but now it's time for you to retreat a bit and ask important questions like, "Who am I," "Why am I here," and "What's the purpose of my life?" It is a wonderful year for diving more deeply into spiritual pursuits and specialized areas of interest where research or time alone is involved. It's also a year in which you may deal with situations or relationships from the past that were unresolved and offer opportunity for completion or a new start. Events that have nothing to do with the present can arise such as bizarre situations, health concerns, sudden windfalls, or a relationship that feels fated. This is a year of karmic payback either to you or from you, and so it is very beneficial to look for the meaning and purpose behind all happenings. This can be a deeply rewarding time if you are willing to go within yourself to find the treasures that are hidden there. The more you want to run in the world and avoid knowing yourself, the more difficult the journey. Go within and embrace who is waiting for you. It is nothing short of a soul reunion!
8
Last year required taking time to yourself and retreating a bit. Now the opportunity for more dynamic interchange and effectiveness in the world is possible. Powerful people can come to your assistance, and you have the ability to exude a powerful influence on others as well. Your dynamic qualities push you toward a goal or purpose, and after the restrictions you may have felt last year, suddenly the river is flowing again full force. Instead of fighting against the current, reach out and flow with it, encompassing everything you touch along the way. The tendency to overdo is mitigated when you recognize the importance for balance and harmony. Music, hydrotherapy, massage, and relaxation techniques can all help to bring you back to equilibrium. However, there is much to accomplish, and working within a system is helpful. Direct the projects, but let others do their part without trying to micro-manage. Call on celestial influences for help, and you'll be surprised by the quality of what you attract. Life is a movable feast, so reach out and participate!
9
It's the end of a cycle that began nine years ago. Therefore, it's time to take a look at what you've been through, what has been valuable, what needs to be released, and what attitudes no longer serve you. The focus of the year is on completion, so there may be relationships or situations that come to a natural conclusion at this time. Whatever occurs, the focus needs to be on the bigger picture. As you look to the meaning behind events and seek the higher ground whenever issues arise, you are able to bring a larger perspective to others that inspires and uplifts. If you fall into traps of self-pity or discouragement, the only redeemer is a connection to Source - so practice gratitude on a daily basis, even if you can only be grateful for the air you breathe. As you demonstrate gratitude for all that is, more good comes. When you feel resentful that things aren't the way you want them, everything stops. In the 9th year, we must focus on a larger plan unfolding - recognizing the perfection in all that is, even if it doesn't make sense. When you are able to hold gratitude as the center to everything, this can be one of the spectacular years of your life!
