Breathe, focusing on your Heart. Let Light fill this area
on the in-breath and allow it to naturally fill your arms, torso, and
down through your legs.
You are standing on the deck of large ship. All about you are the
emotional waves responding to the course you have directed. Above
you the skies are stormy, and it looks like rain. You are heading
for a patch of clear sky in the horizon.
Before you is a directional navigational tool unlike any other tool
you have seen upon a ship. It is wooden and arches up from the deck
about 4' high. It has two handles for steering, and you see that the
name on this tool is "Emotional Rudder."
You look about the ship, but no one else is here. You begin to think
that quite odd, when a familiar feeling begins to wash over you. This
is not just any ship. This is the Ship of Fools, and you are the Captain.
This ship represents the directions you are going in this life time,
and how you are managing and creating the weather around you.
Below deck are your quarters. Although the area seems quite small,
you seem to have everything you need. There are books, drawings, maps,
photographs, and other memorabilia. The bed is very comfortable. You
check the pantry and see that there is an abundant supply of food.
Back on deck you look over the side at the choppy waves. The sky
continues to darken above you. This ship follows a course in one direction,
and then seemingly with no reason turns and begins going in another
direction. It seems like a haphazard way to travel, with no apparent
direction or goal in view.
You want to be in calmer waters, and sailing where you feel you
are in better control. You decide to go back and check out the Emotional
Rudder. Maybe it will help you steer a different course.
There are a few gauges and dials you need to become familiar with.
The first dial has settings for PAST, NOW, and FUTURE. You see that
the dial is currently set on PAST. Next to this dial is a mini television
with three 3" x 3" screens, and you begin to watch.
The only screen showing is the left one. As you look at the picture,
you are shocked to see events from your past! You are viewing the
resentments from your co-workers. Now you are seeing an argument with
a friend from several years ago. Another scene emerges and shows you
several years younger, full of anger and frustration and low self-esteem.
You thought you had already worked through and found forgiveness with
all these experiences, but there they are replaying over and over.
You begin to understand what is happening now. You turn the dial
to FUTURE. At least, you think, you can see what is coming up!
The mini right screen begins to light up, but there is static. Once
in a while faint images appear, but they are unclear. You tap the
glass on the screen, but it has no effect.
You turn the setting to NOW, and all three screens light up. The
center mini screen shows the ship and where you are now. The right
screen, the future one, shows the same scene but in calmer waters
and with a sky filled with sunshine. You begin to understand that
when you are in the NOW, you have full power over PAST and FUTURE.
Now you look at the other dials on the Emotional Rudder. The one
that catches your eye is the dial marked INTENT. As you turn it, you
get a feeling of Love bursting into your Heart. You look at the dial,
and see that you have moved it to Love. Other settings on this dial
show Joy, Harmlessness, Healing, Control, Manipulation, Anger….an
endless array of emotions. As you turn the dial, you actually FEEL
each setting. But that's not all.
The ship instantly responds to the level of INTENT. When the dial
is set at Love, the seas calm before the prow, and a tangible Presence
of Love makes you and the ship ONE. A rainbow arches in the sky and
the clouds turn pastel colors. You focus on the horizon, and the ship
effortlessly glides in the direction you are looking.
Curious, you set the dial to Anger. Instantly the boat rocks, boards
begin to come up from the deck, the waves rise and crash over the
railings and a hurricane looms on the horizon. The atmosphere changed
in direct relation to the level of INTENT. Quickly you turn the dial
to the neutral setting, and find the ship stopping completely.
"I guess they weren't kidding when they said I was the captain of
my soul," you say. You think about the emotional INTENT you wish to
set your ship steering with. You turn the dial and make your choice
for this NOW moment, and again the ship moves forward.
You have set your INTENT with a more harmonious direction. You don't
really feel that way yet, but as you continue sailing and focusing
on your INTENT, your emotional feeling tone begins to match it. Simply
because you intended it so.
The seas are more manageable now. You have set your course and your
intent. You see other ships sailing upon the seas. Some are having
a rough time of it, and you notice that if you pay them too much attention,
your INTENT lever slips out of its setting and you are sailing in
circles. You realize you will have to keep an eye on your INTENT and
check in often, maybe even several times a day.
Now you see other ships coming into view. Ships that are sailing
the same integrity waves. Other folks of like Mind and Heart. You
set your course and your INTENT, knowing you have control of your
ship. Its just another day in Paradise! Welcome home, and thank you
