eng Shui (pronounced "fung shway") teaches us how to create healthy harmonious environments. Literally translated from ancient Chinese calligraphy, Feng Shui means Wind & Water. This important tradition has been a vital part of Asian culture and religion for over 4,000 years. In many parts of the world one would never move to a new building or build a new structure without first consulting a Feng Shui Priest. Today, Feng Shui is becoming popular in the USA as the time arrives for consciousness shifts involving a deeper awareness of our environments, as well as our relationship to our environments. We say in Feng Shui, "as goes our environment so go we, and vice versa."

In this series we will be exploring the Feng Shui of the Future, which is now! Many of you have read books or been to Feng Shui lectures these days but perhaps you have noticed that much of it seems a little outdated. My re-membrance is of the time when Feng Shui was first created in its purity and perfect consciousness. Then, over its long history, the inevitable occurred as individuals interpreted through their egos and personal references. The original purity began to reflect individual biases, history, cultural references, political influences etc. As Feng Shui spread to other cultures and countries it had to be made culturally appropriate for that area, as has been happening here in the USA. As an example, in China the color white is associated with death, thus Chinese would not plant white flowers for fear that it would bring an unexpected death. Here in the United States, however, white is often associated with weddings and sacred ceremony.

The time has come to restore Feng Shui to its original purity and bring forth the Feng Shui that will assist us in preparing for the future, which is now.

As we proceed on this journey together, we shall co-create something very special for ourselves and our world through our expanding awareness of our environment and how to work in harmony with it on all levels and all dimensions.

Before I commence, however, let me tell you a little about my background, which brings me from a diverse set of experiences and life's challenges.

For the first 20 years or so of my adult life I was working in business in high levels of responsibility. I had reached the top of my industry as President of a large Boston area real estate company. My experience included commercial development and building/construction, but never did I imagine I would become a Feng Shui teacher/consultant. I did, however, often have the sense that, even though I had reached high levels of business, there must be something more. I was never particularly impressed with money and wealth, but I was not yet very consciously aware of my higher self either. My new practice of Insight Meditation became a catalyst for my awakening. Then came divorce, financial struggles, and the unraveling of my practical world. In my meditations I was shown that I had the ability to hold it all together if I wished, but then again, I knew I couldn't and that it was time to let go of the old and make room for the new.

Then came an introduction to a Feng Shui master from New Zealand, Dr Clif Sanderson, while he was visiting the States. I had almost no knowledge of Feng Shui, but I had a deep sense that I had to pay attention and that this was important for me. Clif later went off to Russia to use his knowledge of Feng Shui in medical applications to help Russian doctors dealing with the nuclear radiation from the Chernobyl accident. He successfully showed the doctors and physicists how to use Chi energy to combat nuclear radiation. It was all scientifically documented, and as a result of his work he was awarded the Albert Schweitzer International Laureate for Medicine.

Later Clif was passing through the States and I had occasion to visit with him again, now that my interest had been piqued and I was reading and learning more about Feng Shui. Deep insight was revealing to me that I was to work with Feng Shui but I did not know how to proceed. Fortunately, Clif directed me to Professor Lin Yun in Berkeley, CA. I subsequently studied with him in various different areas of the United States. These studies confirmed to me that this was to be my work, but there was a deep challenge to my physical world self as the corporate leader on one hand and the Feng Shui practitioner on the other.

This conflict resolved itself with the help of a doctor who knew me well and confirmed that I was meant to do this work and furthermore please begin by doing our offices. Then the journey began to materialize with one referral to the next as if it was taking me by the collar and sending me where I needed to go to learn the next step. After learning the mundane/practical aspects of Feng Shui, the more esoteric non-physical aspects began to reveal themselves. In particular, I began to learn how to work with etheric energies through pyramidal forms. Somehow, right from the beginning, I knew exactly what to do even though I had not yet spent a lifetime learning Feng Shui as do most masters of the art. It was clear that I had done this work many times before.

This background information provides a reference for who I am and where I am coming from in my understanding and life's experiences. Please excuse any slips of ego, but, after all, we are still human as we play this game of life. My mission is to restore the truths about Feng Shui and lead us in the reapplication of these ageless principles so that we are able to step into our power as magnificent beings of the light. Along the way we get to decide how we are going to play the game next. With this thought we embark consciously on this journey of using our power to create a more whole, enlightened earth by taking each of our own environments and making them as harmonious as possible.

Now, let us move on to explore how we are to bring our environments into harmonic resonance. As Above-So Below serves as one of the re-minders. When we work with environment we must re-member that we are living in the physical as well as the non-physical world. When we make Feng Shui adjustments or cures they must be done for both. On the non-physical level, we must re-member to connect the Heavens (Above) with the Earth (Below). One powerful symbolism for this is the diamond shaped pyramidal form with a pyramid above and below the surface and a yod (light-filled, self-modulating light connector) through the top of the pyramid connecting to the Heavens, and another yod connecting below to the crystalline center of the Earth. We will play more with these pyramidal forms in later sections as we begin to co-create using these understandings.

On the more mundane level, we learn to look for clues in our environments on a physical level to see what is going on in our lives and what we are (sometimes unconsciously) creating. This can be the clutter that we share in our space, color, lighting, doorway flows, room layout, stairways, furniture placements, etc. Sometimes the simple repositioning of the master bed can be all that is necessary to bring about changes in our lives. Blocked or unclear front doors can also cause imbalances in our lives, as these represent the "mouth of the Chi." Everything affects everything!

When we make a change in our environment it makes a change in our energetic bodies. And when we make a change in our energetic body, it makes a change in our environment. For most, it is easier to make a change in our environment (such as move the bed, change the front entrance, remove clutter, etc.). But, as I mentioned earlier, they are one and the same. For Feng Shui is also based on the simple truth that we are all ONE. Carrying this further, we begin to realize the power of Feng Shui and how making simple changes in our environment can change our neighborhoods, our country, and even our universe.

As I often say to people, I teach you what you already know - in your subconscious. By bringing this awareness to the forefront of your consciousness, you then have the necessary tools to change your reality template and create anything you need and want. Can you imagine the possibilities as we all begin to share this consciousness with clear intention? In truth, all that is required is that we each take full responsibility for our own environments and create them as whole as possible. The goal might be to make your environment the most beautiful, nurturing, free of clutter, embracing space possible.

I can already hear the minds churning in response to this possibility..."Sounds great but where do I get the money? Where do I begin? How can I possibly overcome that obstacle, etc?" Let me reassure you that it does not take money to create a perfectly balanced environment. All it takes is clear intention and commitment.

My own experience may serve as a re-minder of the possibilities. A few years ago we moved into an old schoolhouse in Vermont that was beautiful and had the wonderful lingering energies of the school children. We decided that this would be a home where we would have regular gatherings of people and friends. In order to do this, we needed a big dining room table and chairs, but there were no readily available funds on hand for this purpose. We simply solved the problem by saying out loud that we were intending that a dining room table and chairs would appear at a price that we could easily afford and all with ease.

The very next day I was visiting a client who mentioned that she was closing her office and had some furniture that she was attempting to get rid of quickly. One of the pieces was a 4'x 8' Oak table with ten oak wicker chairs. My client said, "If you want them they are yours and I will take a cosmic IOU as payment." The next day they were sitting in our dining room and we enjoyed the table and chairs for several years. So you see, it doesn't always require money to create what you want and need. Give yourself the freedom to manifest and create whatever it is that you need and want in order to create a healthy, happy and productive life.

It is time that we all stand in our power and create beautiful environments that are in harmonic resonance and perfection with the universe. We are not alone. We do not operate separately. Bulldozers and heavy equipment do not solve all imbalances. Join me in creating harmonic resonance that will ring throughout the universe in proclamation that we are free and ONE.
