5: THE BAGUA AND HOW TO USE IT
The Bagua (pronounced "baag wah") is a transcendental tool used for
Feng Shui cures. It has 8 sides in an octagon shape with each side having a
relationship to some specific aspects of our lives. It is a powerful tool when
used properly.
During this article we will explain the basics of how to use the Bagua. It does
however require a lifetime of discovery to deeply understand it's full meaning
and use. Therefore as you begin to learn how to use it, treat it as a playful
tool of discovery. Follow your intuition and observe carefully the effect.
Here is what the Bagua looks like:

As you see, it has 8 sides and each side has a relationship to some aspect in
our lives. Do not think of these in too linear terms but rather in symbolic
ways. For instance Marriage is not just husband and wife issues but relationships
of all kinds. Children is not just your biological offspring but the offspring
of your ideas etc.
You will also see that each side (known as Gua) has other pertinent information
such as colors, numerology, body parts, and creative elements. It also has the
trigrams from the I-Ching. All of these pieces of the puzzle help to provide
insight and discernment as well as divination techniques. In other words, with
careful use of the Bagua, we can learn valuable information as to what is happening
in our lives/environments, and then in turn make adjustments to create a different
reality. The N, S, W, E, symbols are not compass orientations and do not mean
that one orients the Bagua North or South but rather refers to the type of energy
associated with North, South, etc.
When using the Bagua to evaluate your home or business, position the Bagua over
the footprint of your home or business with the Career Gua positioned
along the wall where the main front door is located.
Here is what it looks like:

As you can see from diagram 3 below, the marriage gua in this example is missing.
In order to correct this we would place mirrors as indicated on the walls near
the marriage gua and/or hang a crystal ball from the ceiling at the corner.
We can also use the Bagua for individual rooms. Use the doorway into the room
to orient the Bagua in the same way as we do it for the whole house or business.

Next here is how we place the Bagua on land.
Diagram 4
The driveway is the mouth of the chi and therefore the career gua
is along the middle of the front of the lot as indicated. Similar use of the
Bagua applies as to the inside of a house or business.
The Bagua can be used in many other creative ways. We use it to read palms,
the face, body, even computers.
Apparently the Group as channeled by Steve Rother knows this because they contacted
me a few weeks ago inviting me to create an interpretation of the Bagua for
computer desktop screens. My first reaction was resistance as I am not the greatest
fan of spending a lot of time in front of the computer so I put it aside. And
then as I was writing this article, I ran into delays and obstacles. Along the
way my computer required massive redoing and the main screen with all the menu
displayed got all disarrayed. No surprise, I had to redo the layout! In fact
the layout had to be redone several times as if to stretch my interpretations
of the possibilities. I chuckled to myself at how crafty this all was as a way
to get me to look at how to use the Bagua in computers.
What I discovered is that it is advantageous to lay out the screen in an octagon
like configuration so that there are no stuck corners. In addition, place the
heart of your activities in the middle of the screen. These would be the items
that you use most often.
Also colors are important so use a balance of colors on your screen. An example
of this would be to use each of the colors of the rainbow.
So as you can see, there are many ways to use the Bagua. Enjoy the playful journey
of discovering how it can help you create a transcendental solution.
