...hushhh my love, and listen within...
for butterflies are the great messengers of our universe.

MY MISSION IS TO EXPLORE the spirituality of art, and the art of spirituality.

I think everyone has had an “oh wow” moment, when an image has
ushered them into a vibrantly new state of consciousness. That is what I
want to generate through my artwork – birthing shifts in consciousness,
sacred, transformative moments of self recognition.

May I challenge you to explore the connection between
"what it means to be human, spiritual, & creative"
and how these adventures coalesce
generating a richly textured,
most wonder-filled life.

I BELIEVE IMAGES can be powerful starting points
for personal and planetary healing.

Butterflies are a constant reminder that at any holy moment,
something absolutely beautiful can break through...

As humans, we can apply this concept to our individual lives,
harvesting the mundane and consciously infusing it with heartfelt beauty.

Caterpillars endure a long and arduous process prior to becoming butterflies in flight.
It serves us well to remember the caterpillar's metamorphosis
when confronting our personal struggles.

MANY PEOPLE DO NOT exercise their creativity out of fear - fear that others will judge
their product as inferior, (fear that WE will judge ourselves inferior).

Let the chrysalis drop...
Release all self-imposed limitations.
Love yourself.

Sacred art is any project created to celebrate an individual's spiritual path.
Work with your own truth, honor your own unique creative vision.

THE IMAGES IN THIS SHOWCASE are from The Chrysalis Project,
an online installation I have created, dedicated to world peace.
The story behind the images is both amazing and poignant.

In August 2001, I attended a collage workshop. After arriving home,
a month later, I started to experiment with some butterfly
photographs that I had taken at Cypress Gardens.

I was just "playing" and went to shutdown the software program,
when suddenly a voice emerged from my heart and my head saying,

"Keep working - make it into a mandala. There will be 12 in all.
They will be a hymn to world peace.
Within 24 hours you will understand why...."

The mandalas in The Chrysalis Project are an invitation for the viewer
to contemplate the beauty in the world and to realize that
all of us exist in a chrysalis of conditioning and belief,
and that in any holy second we can choose to break out of
that chrysalis and exist in a space of glory and peace.

Namaste,
~Iryne~

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Iryne Cummins is an artist-healer/visionary from Merritt Island, Florida. Professionally, she holds design degrees from Barry University and Weber State University. Her artwork has been included in several online galleries of software and hardware companies including Waccom Tablets (1998), and Right Hemisphere (current). Iryne has also won a number of corporate awards for her professional graphic projects; including the highest civilian award that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration grants.

Despite Iryne's success, she was a “blocked creative” for most of her adult life. It was only after combining her artistic pursuits with her spiritual studies that her art projects and creativity began flowering. To thank the Universe for the return of her creativity, she launched The Sacred Art/Sacred Play Workshops. Iryne's events explore the connection between "what it means to be human, to be spiritual, and to be creative" - and how these adventures fit together to make for a rich, wonderfully textured life.
