Jarmen Kell, was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1984. He is currently a 3rd year student at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts paint department.
In the last two years, Jarmen has been working on abstract paintings and abstraction. He's been composing rationalistic and geometric forms in the Western sense that take place on the backgrounds that represent the East for him, which are constructed randomly and intuitively. Generally, subjects like loneliness, simulation, relaity, and identity shape his paintings. He expresses the loss of identity in society with rough textures and torn apart tissues that he applies to the paint paper.
Recently Jarmen's been creating conceptual works, where thought takes the place of aesthetics and composition. Apart from painting he enjoys photo-manipulation, video-art and installations.
