ABOUT THE ARTIST

Paul C. Phillips, a passionate artist who resides in Chicago, Illinois, is deeply in love with what he does. Being what he calls a "metal geek" he could go on for hours about his love of metal and the experience of being "in the flow" while creating. The primary influence on Paul's work comes from time he spent working as a machinist, learning the skills associated with metalsmithing. The inspiration for his work is drawn from the world around him, including himself and his own personality traits. Paul continues to incorporate new skills, such as tig welding into the process, recognizing the more he learns, the greater opportunity his work has to evolve.
