The Ethereal Hair Cut
Because Life's Too "Short" to be Serious
By Laura Placeres

The other day I went to the hair salon and walked up to the gal at the cash register. She said to me, "Do you want a hair cut today?" Being Friday, and dealing with a long workweek, my immediate reactive thought was "NO, I came in here for a burger!" Instead, I just said "Yes." She then said, "Phone number?" That goes into "Street, City, Zip Codes." I finally broke down and asked, "Do you want my Social Security number also?" and started laughing. She, however, didn't laugh; she was concentrating on getting the numbers correct on the cash register.

Maybe one day I will walk into a hair salon and there will be an ethereal being at the door waiting for me. They will whisk me into a soft comfortable pillow-like thing, take one look at me and say, "You are a beautiful Light Being. You look wonderful as you are. NEXXXXXT!" Validation that we are beautiful creatures is something that we all look for. It doesn't have to be a booming voice from heaven, or a channeled message from an Ascended Master to make us smile. The simple compliments we get from our peers will make our day. Even a friend in a chat room saying "I LOVE YOU" is a great thing sometimes. We all like those personal greetings and confirmations that we are LIGHT.

Now let's try this scenario again. A man walks into a bar. Oops, wrong scenario. I walk into the hair salon, so excited to get my hair cut. The gal at the cash register asks me, "Do you want a hair cut today?" I look at her and smile, charmed that she is talking directly to me. I chirp up, "Yes, I would love one, know where I can get that done?" (Looking around and smiling) The girl at the register smiles back and says, "Phone number?" I say, "Well I had one once, but I couldn't remember it for the life of me, so I gave it up." Now the gal at the register is standing with a smirk on her face, and I give her my number. "Street, City, Zip Code…" I give her all these with a step in my voice and then say, "Wow did you get your hair cut here? Can you recommend someone?"

Now who is gonna do this? Well maybe my Dad, but his jokes are horrible, well maybe not as bad now that I'm older. Okay here is another scenario. I walk into the hair salon, noticing the gal behind the register. I smile and say, "Hi, I'm a psychic and I know all the questions you are going to ask me. I've prepared a list of vital statistics on myself. Choose the ones you need and hand the list back when you're done, and yes I will wait 15 minutes."

Personally, I like this one the best. Its straight and to the point and shows a gleam of my personality. It may annoy the gal at the register; but then again, she may be stunned that I knew the questions she was going to ask me. So why not? Try something different; see if it makes life a little more fun.

Oh and before I forget, make sure you validate the gal at the register. "You look great after the accident, the plastic surgeon did a fabulous job". Hehehe……. (just kidding)
