I AM PROUD TO BE from a small but very beautiful country called Lithuania. I am 16 years old and still in high school; after graduation I plan to join Vilniaus Art Academy, but that's two years away so there is still time for me to improve my skills. For as long as I can remember, I have been drawing - from the first day I could hold a pencil. My first real passion was drawing portraits, but I felt a need for more creative freedom. So, less than a year ago, I began doing photomanipulation. It changed my life. Now, I cannot imagine a day without creating or thinking about new pieces. It has become the main and most important thing in my life. Also, I recently started learning how to paint with oil paints. In my opinion, painting is very important if you want to be a truly good artist. For me, art is more than making an image; it's a way for me to express my deepest fears and greatest hopes. I put all my heart into my work. The only thing I wish for is that my work may influence people's feelings. I want my images to make people think and feel... not just hang on a wall looking pretty. I don't like to speak about any particular one of my pieces. Each person feels differently about the same work and that, I think, is very good, I want to keep it that way. I don't want to cause people to start thinking alike; that would truly be poison for the mind. I do hope that you enjoy "Salvation"! Aušra
