I HAVE JUST FINISHED A JOURNEY THAT I WILL TAKE AGAIN and again, and want to share the highlights with you of a very special experience called The Journey to Wild Divine.

I heard about The Wild Divine Project through an e-mail last December, and made a note that I would visit its website to investigate further. When I clicked on to www.wilddivine.com I found images of a visually stunning game as part of the project’s overall mission to remind humanity of its higher purpose on Earth. The game they offer called The Journey to Wild Divine includes biofeedback sensors so that a truly interactive experience takes place. Through the process of playing the game, we become aware of our own interaction with our mind, emotions, spirit and body. We are able to monitor our experience of internal stress and calm, and receive guidelines as we play on how to shift energy patterns to achieve objectives of harmony and balance within.

The Journey to Wild Divine is no ordinary game. It is filled with tasks that utilize our intention to accomplish. It has aspects that are purely instructional and provides stunning visuals that delight the soul. It has fun exercises that demonstrate our ability to utilize our own mind/emotions/spirit through the body to achieve a desired goal. And it activates the visualization capacity of the mind. There are objects to find and retrieve, there are tests to take related to internal states, and there are beautiful scenes to partake in that bring a feeling of peace and delight to our senses. With a soundtrack that gives just the right background for each part of the journey, the experience can be transformative.

After my initial curiosity to see what clues I could follow and what objects I would find, I returned to the beginning and allowed myself to experience the opportunity as a process rather than an achievement-oriented game. I really got in touch with my breathing patterns and how easily I can move to the energized/stress level, whereas it is very difficult to achieve a state of enduring calm. This made sense, given that I have elevated blood pressure. Through the breathing exercises that are suggested throughout the journey with subtle help from the unseen guides, I have been able to regulate my responses much better than before. My relaxation level has been such that I sleep through the night rather than waking up every few hours, and I notice throughout the day that I’m much more aware of how my reactions affect me physiologically. I now make a concerted effort to use the breathing techniques from The Journey to Wild Divine to achieve a state of calm. In fact, I have now completed the game, but go back nightly to visit my favorite places that allow me to practice breathing to reach a state of calm. There are two sites in the game that I have not been able to open more than once because of my stress level. Yet, when I allow myself to see the opportunity presented as a learning experience rather than an objective to be met, it becomes a wonderful experience of practicing the presence.

There is a little something for everyone in this game. The music alternates between sounds of nature, soft instrumentation of bells, flutes and chimes to lyrical pieces that are more rousing. There are wonderful Hindu temple dancers with accompanying ragas, and a Zen Master backed by appropriate chimes and singing bowls. We receive our first gift in a magical cottage from the Lady of the Forest, and from there we meet others on the paths who provide clues and advice that will help us on the journey. The gift of a mentor offering sage advice when we ask for it is helpful as we attempt difficult tasks that involve varying states of awareness not always easy to achieve. The process is the journey. The game portion has approximately 10 hours of playtime, but the experiential portion can be enjoyed for as long as one wants to spend. There are no time limits – no agenda. There is no evil entity outside waiting to devour us. There is only the stunning artistry of the game and our own intention and attention.

In experiencing the process, I found there were some tasks that were intended to show me how to increase or decrease energy in order to accomplish them. They had no other function. On the other hand, there are feats that, once completed, deliver a gift, and requirements at other venues to provide something in order to gain entry to the site. At other points in the game there are scenic outlooks that have no intention other than to take the time to appreciate the visual beauty and sound of music in the background. We can create our own visualization at these moments. The graphics, art forms, and colors are exquisite. If I have one complaint, it’s that I wanted the game to go on and on and offer more and more dimensions to discover. The good news is that the Wild Divine Project plans to release a sequel to The Journey of Wild Divine in the Fall. I can’t wait. In the meantime, I’ll continue to visit the places along the Journey that provide an opportunity to practice mindfulness and the calming breath.

I heartily recommend The Journey of Wild Divine and encourage you to investigate it here. Be sure to check systems requirements when you peruse the website, as the game does require a good bit of usable memory on your computer. As for the price – it is seemingly expensive for a game. However, when you consider the biofeedback sensors and the many physiological benefits you receive, it is well worth the price. I would purchase it again without hesitation!
