THE ABILITY TO SEE SPIRIT - clairvoyance - results when judgments, imprints, denials and various traumas associated with the Indigo chakra or "Third Eye" are in a process of being evaluated, exposed, and reconciliation with Self is underway. Our Indigo chakra, as with any of our chakras, stores a great deal of associated traumas and all the judgments that we attach to these traumas and insults, where our internal vision is concerned, manifest and hinder this chakra's ability to express in a healthy and balanced way according to its true nature.

All of us are "equipped" with the Indigo chakra and we are all, therefore, capable of seeing spirit. Our ability to make effective use of this beneficial tool depends on how much effort we are willing to put into the clearing of this chakra and how much value we place on a healthy chakra system. Most importantly, clairvoyance is not a gift divinely bestowed upon a chosen few but rather our collective heritage. It is who we are. Clairvoyance is a standard component of a healthy functioning subtle anatomy and a most natural expression of who we are as humans. Clairvoyance is part of our nature.

Consulting a visionary psychic creates within us an opening, because we are ready to receive information; we are ready to be seen. This puts us in a position of vulnerability and immediately there is created an imbalance of power between ourselves and the person we are consulting for a psychic reading. This imbalance is natural. But, if it is not acknowledged by either party, the potential for this imbalance of power to be exploited either consciously or otherwise is also present.

Giving permission to be viewed creates this opening within ourselves, and we become receptacles, containers about to be filled with the information we seek. When permission is granted, a gateway opens and Free Will flows without obstruction. If Free Will is not honoured, or even acknowledged, denied ego will taint the reading.

A denied ego is easy to spot. It comes in the form of language that says, "I don't have an ego!" We all have an ego and to remain aware of our egos - and that we all have denials - is not only healthy but is paramount in being honest with ourselves. If we can be honest with ourselves we can only then be honest with others. A denied ego can unintentionally manipulate the delicate imbalance of power between the Indigo Seer and the client. Denied ego corrupts the Seer's ability to truly respect the client's boundaries without that Seer's conscious awareness that corruption is occurring; it is, after all, ego in a state of denial. The client participates in the imbalance of power by giving away their power, also, (most often unintentionally) by invalidating themselves and conceding to the expert who "knows better".

To bring balance back to the power dynamic that is ultimately at play here it is important for the client and the Indigo Seer to recognize that a psychic reading should be a partnership. The client may not have a clear Indigo chakra themselves but that does not negate the power of their own intuition or instincts. Nor does it negate their personal intimate knowledge of the issues at hand. It is important for the Indigo Seer not to negate the expertise of the client or override their interpretations of what is being viewed and shared. The experience should be one that recognizes the talents that lay between both parties and a balance of these two talents should be sought after bringing as much clarity and illumination to the session as possible. It should be a conference, a conversation. It should never be one-sided.

Both the client and the Indigo Seer need to recognize the power inherent in themselves as individuals when they come together to discuss what is in the highest interest of the client. An Indigo Seer with integrity should also lend a teaching to the client that steers them in the direction of self empowerment and away from addictive dependencies. We can all see our own futures! Seldom do we consider the collaborative relationship that exists between the Indigo Seer and their client. The client, or person being viewed, has equal influence and therefore responsibility in the experience as does the clairvoyant.

When a client allows them self to be viewed the Indigo Seer can only see what the client is willing to reveal about themselves. This is an important understanding to have. The Indigo Seer with healthy boundaries will not venture beyond their client's desire to be viewed; will not look under rugs or beds and peek in cupboards. The Indigo Seer with integrity will only view that which they have been given permission to view.

Perhaps it is actually the case that the Indigo Seer can only see what is being shown. And, therefore, if they exercise power over another's Free Will by attempting to view what has not been permitted, how is the client to evaluate what is reported? Is it actual, or is it a projection of the Seer's expectations, self-judgments or judgments of the client? When one views another, Integrity of Heart must be employed for the vision to accurately reflect another's inner landscape. When one overrides the free will of another - usually the result of an imbalanced ego - unlovingness is empowered to convolute the visionary landscape. That imbalanced ego has the power to distort.

Integrity of Heart is crucial with psychic viewing. An Indigo Seer who embraces their heart in their practice will seldom be led astray by their own denied egos, or denials in general. Our hearts are our best barometers of right action.

Another consideration for maintaining a healthy ego is the recognition of the teaching of the mirror. Our clients present to us mirrored reflections of some of the denials we hold in ourselves but are not able to see. This is true of all human relationships. We all hold a mirror for one other. In every relationship there exists no division between expert and novice. That is simply a state of mind - not necessarily a state of being. We are not separated. We all have areas of expertise and we all have areas we are less familiar with. To acknowledge this in the context of a psychic reading is critical, as it allows the Indigo Seer to see the true potential of their human brother or sister who sits across from them, to honour their innate abilities and understandings of themselves and who they have come to be at this point in their life. The client is not without power. Perhaps they are merely without insight and the awareness that they have power. It is, in part, the responsibility of the Indigo Seer to point this out to the client.

Self-judgments marry us to shame and un-worth. We feel vulnerable and at risk of being exposed, and our lack of self-acceptance prevents others from seeing our true self. We do not feel safe from the feared judgments of others, which are in essence a projection of our own self-judgments that we are not ready to experience in an outer reflection. So, we protect ourselves by blocking our most vulnerable parts from being viewed. When an Indigo Seer sees parts of our life it is because we have given permission to be seen in this way, to have these specific parts of us viewed. This permission may come from our conscious Self or it may come from our unconscious Self/Selves. The unconscious may be desirous of conscious communication that has been otherwise hampered by our own self-judgments, and so a facilitator arrives to traverse this interpersonal communication gap.

I do not believe Indigo Seers have the power to see all or see us stripped in our nakedness exposing our deeply held secrets. I believe the Indigo Seer only has permission, not power. They have access to view because permission has been granted and a clear Third Eye as the means by which to view. The most pivotal insights can be gained when a client in a healing process is ready to be viewed. The insights are shared with the client and the client is equally responsible for interpreting these insights. The Indigo Seer communicates messages from parts of Self gapped in less conscious realms. The client will be specifically cued by the metaphoric messages given by these less conscious aspects of Self. This language will be best understood by the client, the aspect of Self for whom the message was designed.

Indigo seeing is a mutual communication with as much responsibility on the Seer's part for viewing the message as on the client's part for interpreting what has been viewed... and for being open and in alignment with all of Self in the giving of permission to be viewed. A successful psychic reading is as dependent on the impeccable boundaries and skill of the clairvoyant as it is on the readiness of the person being viewed to open to such scrutiny.

The Indigo Seer with Integrity of Heart is a valuable ally in assisting our navigation through the challenging terrains of separation from Self.
