Dear
Rev. Sherri,
My question is WHY? Why do we - psychics, intuitives, etc.
- offer our services? Is it truly an altruistic event?
Or in the case of those who charge for their services: do we need
to show ourselves and others that we are indeed connected, that we
are ONE? Or is it that we need to demonstrate that what we do makes
the world a better place? Or prove that there is more to the world
than the eye can see? Is it a question of faith?
Namaste,
Jan
Dear Jan,
AS
AN INTUITIVE I have had these questions at times myself...
I struggled with the idea of charging clients and understanding why
I was drawn to do the work I do. I feel that each person has the same
"gift" I have, that we are ONE, so why should I be doing this
work or charging for it?
Why
some of us feel drawn is as individual and personal as each person who
came into this life experience. Just as some people are drawn to teaching,
acting or writing, others are drawn to the modalities of healing and
assisting through their intuitive nature. I feel each person, on a soul
level, following their life path will be in alignment with what they
feeling their calling is for this experience - whether it is spiritual
or intuitive in nature or not.
In
response to charging for services, I strongly feel, in all aspects of
life and work, whether spiritual or traditional, there needs to be balance.
In many cases this exchange comes from a monetary level.
Many spiritual workers, intuitives and healers feel they are called
and led to provide their services and feel part of this process involves
poverty as result - this is not my understanding. All work, regardless
of the nature, needs to be compensated for its perfect balance of exchange.
Not
all compensation needs to come from a monetary source, more and more
people seeking to barter their services as this balances the exchange.
Follow what system feels best for you and know that your work worthy
of equal compensation for services you provide.

Dear Rev. Sherri,
When I receive healing from a very good friend of mine, or from another
healer who I know, sometimes I feel like something's going to happen
to me. Why do some people feel like they have this phenomenon when
they start to feel a mental shift or a shift on any level for that
matter, when receiving healing?
All
the best and blessings,
Veronica
Dear Veronica,
When
we open ourselves up for a healing, it's a wonderful gift to ourselves.
We allow ourselves to receive, and this is something not many people
allow themselves to do.
Healing, in the capacity I feel you are referring to, is energetic and
therefore can cause you to feel shifts or waves of energy movement within
your body. This feeling can be due to an opening on an energetic level
or an alignment of the chakras. These shifts should feel pleasurable
and create balance within.
On a mental level it may cause you to feel dizziness or lightheadedness,
this is okay, but it is important to rest and relax after any healing
to allow your mental and energetic "selves" to align. Drink
plenty of water and sit or lie down until you feel fully grounded and
balanced once again.

Dear Rev. Sherri,
Even though I have grown considerably in my spiritual life I still
feel like I am stuck at times. Can you give me some insight as to
why I feel this way?
Thanks,
Chuck
Dear Chuck,
This is a very good question, as I too have felt this way along
my path. The joy and enthusiasm of the journey seems to reach a standstill
and while there is much progress on the spiritual pathway, nothing new
seems to be happening... there is a feeling of what's next? Is this
it?
I
have learned to enjoy these plateaus over time. I find they are the
quiet calm where all that has been learned can finally be integrated
as simple a part of being and this is a very peaceful time. However,
sometimes these periods can feel dull and lifeless, but know that there
is a need for this "downtime" - you have accomplished much
growth and learning and it is a time of rest and relaxation.
What you are experiencing is very common as we are always growing and
expanding. In this process our souls know on that deep level when we
need to rest and slow down, these are the times that feel stagnant or
stuck - unmoving. You will get past these periods as energy is always
moving and shifting. As you allow yourself to follow the flow, even
when if feels like nothing is moving, you will always be in perfect
alignment with your path.
