Any idea how to sort out the new children?

I really get confused with all the different names for the new children. Any ideas on how to sort this all out?

Dear J:

I am glad to have an opportunity to say some things that have been on my mind lately. I feel like the need for identifying terms for the various groups of new children is quickly coming to an end. It was necessary to get us all on the same page in the beginning, but now we have created a bit of a complicated mess. More and more I see the blurring of the edges of the various groups as pretty much every child born now is one of the New Children. Speaking of which, we did have the foresight to call our magazine Children of the New Earth as we were aware of the complexity.

The other thing which is becoming cumbersome is the use of the word “children” as many are now adults. I have even had a couple of letters stating just that.

So, what do we do about it? Let it all play itself out. There will be no need to identify pretty soon, but I still see an awful lot of people needing to have clear lists of attributes, clearly defined names, etc. That’s okay.

Oh, one more thing. I really, really wish everyone, and I mean everyone would stop calling various groups of children “special.” That has always bothered me, but that doesn’t seem to stop either.

In the meantime, I stay with the terms Indigo Children and Children of the Crystal Vibration. The former being more “in your face” and the latter the more sensitive, not prone to pushing.

Is anyone else experiencing "great
anxiety" during this time?

Dear Sharyl:

I am one of the older Indigos and have a question that I have not seen addressed anywhere. I have been feeling a great deal of anxiety, bordering on panic attacks in recent months. I don’t have medical insurance. Is anyone else going through this?

Dear M:

As a matter of fact, I am hearing this a great deal lately, since the beginning of the year especially.

You didn’t say where you live and you gave no indication of whether you are having suicidal feelings (a lot of people are right now). If you are in the US, you can look in your local phone book for your area Crisis Center if there is any urgency for you. Do not downplay this!! These feelings need to be addressed.

Most metropolitan areas also have a number of agencies who will help you on a sliding fee scale. Your crisis clinic will have a list so you can find someone who is convenient for you.

What I am seeing right now, even in myself, is what is being called Panic Disorder or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Any shocking or traumatic events or experiences that you have had and not released may be coming up for you right now, so that you can move forward in your life. I don’t see how anyone, especially the new children, can live on this planet and not have shock and trauma stored in their nervous systems. I set about finding ways that I could take good care of myself, be mindful of what my emotions and my body are telling me, and I found Dr. Peter Levine’s book called Waking the Tiger and more recently We Are All in Shock by Dr. Stephanie Mines. I am in the process of reading the latter book right now and can hardly put it down. Dr. Mines is especially helpful providing self care information that is based on a healing touch art called Jin Shin. I recommend getting one or both books or at least checking them out from your local library. Also I think for all of us who are sensitive that it would be a good idea to take a class in Jin Shin or something similar so that we can learn how to quickly and effectively treat ourselves and others in the face of difficult or overwhelming situations.

On a less practical note, I have noticed that during February and March, Tauruses were especially affected. I have some theories about that, but I will leave those for another time.

Dear Sharyl,

Since I read your article a few months ago, I wanted to write to you. I didn´t do it before because I thought that maybe you had received a lot of e-mails telling you: "Hey! I think I am one of those crystal guys"; so may be you are a little bored about these kind of letters. But I just read your article again and I decided to write you.
I'm a woman from Mexico City, I´m 39 years old, and yes, I think that maybe I´m a crystal one. I would like to be in contact with you and the Group, if it is possible, by e-mail. I don´t know if you are still there because the article is dated on 2002.
Please answer me, and excuse me for my English, I hope that you don´t have any problem to understand my letter.
