July 2002 This month Sharyl hears from a Mexican mother with a sleepless baby; a 27-year-old Indigo; a mother who recommends physical activity for her Indigo-Diamond child; a mother who wonders about educational options; a father from India whose child sees auras; and more!
Dear Sharyl: I
am an Australian living in Mexico with my partner and six month old
son Gabriel. I am writing to you for guidance with regard to the
sleeping of our son. All communication with persons here and family
members feels wrong. Gabriel was born on the 12 October 2001 at
4.00pm and since that day he has been a very alert baby. I am
writing for advice as to his sleeping patterns. He has never had
a sleeping pattern as is thought to be "normal" for babies, which I
am comfortable with. However, the last three weeks he has been
not sleeping at all during the day, and at night waking every hour crying.
He is tired and would like to sleep... you can feel it in him... and
see it in his eyes. Have you any words of advice for me?
I am not sure where to go or with whom to seek guidance in order to
seek what this special soul needs to sleep. Saludos a ustedes! What a wonderful name for your son! Call upon Archangel Michael and ask him to clean not only Gabriel's room, but the entire house. He will do something similar to vacuuming. Then ask him to stand watch over Gabriel as he sleeps to be sure that he gets real rest. Every night until Gabriel is old enough to call upon the angels himself, it will be your job to ask AA Miguel to help you clean all of the old energy from the sleeping space and surround the baby with angels to guard and protect him. Talk to Gabriel as you are doing this, telling him that you are calling the angels to be with him as he sleeps, that they are always with him, that he is never alone. Also check to make sure that colors in the room are harmonious with him, that there are no clocks or other electrical devices close to him as he sleeps. Take him for a walk in nature in the evening if you can. Let the devas, the trees, the earth, help cleanse him of any debris in his auric field. He must be away from noise, pollution, electromagnetic frequencies, etc. for a part of every day. My suspicion is that he is one of the Children of Crystal Vibration, and, as such, is very, very sensitive to his environment. Hi Sharyl, My name is Krista. I am a 27-year-old (in two weeks) indigo. I always knew what I was but only found the label about a year ago when my Aunt Julie came home from a workshop with Sue Myers in Cape Coral FL (amazing workshop by the way). I immediately bought the book by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober and of course I identified with it. Today (5/7/02) I read a letter you posted on lightworker.com from a young man named Adam. I also live in Colorado and I keep stumbling across synchronous events regarding this planetary paradigm shift-- I am pretty sure that CO is an important portal for this shift. I could certainly relate to Adam's vexation with the world we're living in and I envy the fact that he's still in college where there are a high concentration of open minds! I graduated three years ago and have been treading water (sometimes barely keeping my nose above the water) ever since. I have a degree in English, Creative Writing, Poetry specifically and I find that very little of my education and even less of my knowingness applies to this world. It is frustrating to have to smoke pot and drink in order to slow down enough to be around most people!! I think it's great that parents of indigo children are actively attempting to learn from them and give them outlets for their sometimes incomprehensible gifts. But what about the indigo elders or scouts? We are 'grown up' now and society expects us to fit and our parents are tired of supporting us, but this world just doesn't work for us. Adam is lucky to know so many people who see the world with these heightened senses, but with an age difference of only six years, I know very few indeed. I have to tone myself down in nearly every social interaction and am so understimulated that at times I too feel crazy. I know that I made an agreement to come here (earth) for a mission of some sort, but my blueprint is buried somewhere in this mind and heart and soul of mine and searching for it so far has yet to pay the bills. I don't know where to begin this mission. I have wonderful gifts that I know I am here to share and quite possibly change the world with, but I don't even know where to look for a job for People Like Me. I am so tired of hearing how overqualified I am for everything, yet over and over seeing the good little worker bees get the jobs. A reply would be greatly appreciated, and any tips for myself as well as others like me for succeeding as grown ups in this world would rock! -- Thanks, peace and love, Krista D., Denver, CO Dear Krista, I sometimes wish that I had a magic wand and could just fix things. What you are experiencing is not easy, but it is very common among you older Indigos. The only thing that I can tell you is that you must follow your passion, but sometimes even finding what that is is a challenge. Each of my children, all of whom are adult Indigos, have or are working jobs that pay their bills and which they do not hate. They simply refuse to work where they are not respected and they understand that they create what they want, so they have created jobs where they are respected and have a certain amount of freedom. Trevor was 27 in March of this year and he is just now really able to know what his passion is and begin to pursue it... he moved in with me to save money while he begins his own clothing company and teaches mixed martial arts. He left his very lucrative job with a genetic research company to do this, because it did not feed his soul. It is not uncommon for older Indigos to not find their place in the world until they are your age. You are all excellent manifestors, so visualize yourself in a job earning money, being fulfilled, etc. etc. whatever it is that you want. Call upon your inner child and soul to show you your passion and work together as one for you to fulfill your highest destiny. Talk out loud to yourself and create what you want. Think about what pulls at your heartstrings, then follow that. -- God bless, Sharyl
Aloha Sharyl, I am enjoying the letters you post on PlanetLightworker. In talking with a friend of mine who has been a principal of schools and is now a contract special Ed teacher, she told me that the present day system of school was initially designed for Henry Ford. Yes the car man! Back in the days when automation was just being birthed, Henry needed to change farmers, those who were in constant movement every day, to become factory workers and be content doing one single job all day, every day. So they developed school to be a sit down in rows and do a task in quiet, obedient style. I plan to research this more! She told me that it was very hard for her as a child to sit so she stood when she could to do her work, although it was frowned upon. She is also a brilliant channel, an intuitive! My son who is "Indigo & Diamond" needs movement. I have tried many things to get him to do homework, but after sitting all day at school, he does not want to sit and do more "sitting" work. He was required to do reading 30 minutes a day while he was in fourth grade. One day he wanted to play marbles. I said, " You need to do your reading first." "Awe... play marbles first." I looked at the clock and it was a time crunch. Knowing his strong will, and not wanting a debate, I told him to read two pages and we each can shoot one time, then read two pages and so on. He read aloud his two pages with zeal! We both shot our turn with marbles, laughed and then he read two more pages, and so on!! I let him read for 45 minutes even though the stopping to shoot marbles was about a minute of time! We actually both enjoyed it! He retained more of the story as well. So we have to get the children out of their desks more! We need to mix movement into the work. Dance the ABC's, Red Rover spelling bees - it is not so hard, we have so much resources already. Just do a remix with a lot of it and play. I have been amazed at the outcome. These children can multitask. Why teach then to do one task for 15 minutes and change to another...especially mimeograph boredom. We can teach them to sing as well as learn facts of science! We can teach coordination and also math. It just takes a bit of imagination. -- Aloha, Carolyn T. Hi Sharyl, My name is Victoria. I want to thank you for your work in the area of Indigo people, and for putting the information out there. I am a 37-year-old mother of two indigo girls, 8 and almost 5 years old. I suspect that I am one of the early Indigos because I fit most of the description and have always felt different. I began to look into the phenomenon of indigos because of my daughters and then realized that I seem to fit the description too. Is this possible? Right now, I am sifting through the different options for my daughters' education. My eight year old, is in public school and is really beginning to lose her love of learning due to the fact that the curriculum has become very rote and dull. She also doesn't like being talked down to and really feels the difference between the quality of communication at home and school because my husband and I do not talk down to her at home. My younger daughter is showing exceptional giftedness and would just be thoroughly bored in public school. She spends hours drawing, painting, sculpting, building and inventing "projects", as she calls them. I can tell that public school would squelch her spirit. What is your opinion on home schooling? We've looked into Waldorf and love it, but at the moment it is too expensive for us. Thanks for your time, -- Victoria K. Yes, you could indeed be an early Indigo which means that your daughters are second generation Indigos, the next step! You are asking the question of the day! What to do about education for our kids? I will admit that this is one of the hardest questions for me to answer based on so many factors, but you have asked about home schooling. If you can do it, I highly recommend it! There are so many resources available now online that weren't there just a few short years ago. Check out http://www.homeschooler.com/. Also every state now has available much assistance, guidelines, curriculum, etc. for those interested in home schooling. The one question that inevitably arises around the subject of home schooling is, "What about social skills?" A sensitive parent such as yourself need not concern herself about the social aspects or lack thereof. There are alls sorts of ways for your child to have the social interaction that is of most benefit whether it be planned excursions with other families to a park on a regular basis or the weekly swimming lessons. Is there another parent or two that you can connect with in your community to share the teaching or outings with? What an exciting thing if in fact you can home school your daughters! It has taken me a long time to figure out what my purpose is here on earth. I have been going to school to get my teaching credential and slowly, but surely I began to head in the direction of alternative and loving teaching. A kind of teaching in which nurturing does not end in pre-school, but continues throughout. I think ultimately I am here to aid my daughters in their purpose, but I know that I have one too. Hello, My name is Melinda. As a 21-year-old Indigo Child, I know what it's like to "Not fit in". I have had such a rough time, and I want to help others that have been through similar experiences and help others to avoid some pain where possible, through educating families of Indigos of their special and "different" needs. I am thinking of starting a Lightworker/ Indigo Support Network or organization in Australia (where I live) sometime in the near future, as I know firsthand how rough it can be, being an Indigo and not having anyone there who understands you.
