My heart is breaking over my son's ADHD;
he's a danger to himself.

Dear Sharyl,

I am so concerned about my son. My heart is just breaking for him and I don't know how to help him. He has "ADHD". I've been dealing with this since he was about 15 months old, when I first noticed he was "hyper". I kept thinking he was going through his terrible twos early. Here he is in 5th grade now and it's been so very hard on him. I don't know how to help him. He is in a special class now because he cannot function in a regular class. He's been suspended from school, the bus, the daycare, and friend’s houses. Many people are mean to him and treat him badly because they think he is just a "brat" and needs discipline. He gets hit and spanked with a belt at his dad's house. He cries his heart out because he thinks he is bad, stupid, worthless, etc. He really wants to be good so much. He just sobs and says he can't help it. He has barely any self-control. He is a danger to himself and to others. He beats on his little brother and sister. He chews his fingernails until the tips of his fingers are raw. He has sores all up and down his forearms where he scratches himself until he bleeds. He lights fires, steals, lies, runs off. It is all affecting our family badly.

I've tried every different kind of medication there is, and combinations. They do help some, but, geez, he is still barely hanging in there. Counseling, parenting classes, behavior modification, all that. Please, please help me figure out what I can do for him. I am in tears typing this.

I did the pendy test on his chakras and his heart chakra is completely closed. No surprise, poor kid. I've read all about Indigo children and I'm sure he is one. He is SUPER sensitive. I've tried giving him Reiki. I've tried different things, but each time it seems to take months adjusting the dose, monitoring, etc. just to find it isn't working either. Now he's going to start Jr. High, has to be in the "bad kids" "retards" class, and ride their bus. I feel so bad for him; he is bright, funny, sweet and definitely psychic, especially his dreams.

I am just so upset I can't even sleep and I'm nine months pregnant. I lay awake at night crying for him and trying to figure out what I can do to help him. I can't stand it any longer; it's only a matter of time before he is in trouble with the law. His birthday 10/18/92.

Oh, dear! This is a tough one. We have got to start getting some real help for these kids who are in so much pain!! I have contacted a friend of mine who is an energy worker. We sometimes work together to help children who are way out of balance to adjust their connection to the earth, to the grids, etc. Can't really explain what we do, but we just do it.

I am also going to forward your letter to a couple of different mothers who have written for us or are writing for us. Dr. Barbara Bullard is one who has a website www.dnamusic.com and works with the Monroe Institute. She has had fantastic results with sound working with ADHD. The other woman has two children who are amazing healers.

As a Crystal mother I have a lot to say

Dear Sharyl,

This is a very whimsical move on my part, but I felt inspired reading your web description of crystal children and your mothering experience. May I tell you some things with you that don't really have any specific purpose except a bizarre desire to be understood?

I am an adult crystal myself - 33 years old. My mother, a raging alcoholic Indigo, like all strong and dedicated warriors, forgot that her home life is not warfare. She fought the systems, she was a brilliant woman, and she turned destructively on her children and husband. Again, I see her as a warrior who didn't know her home wasn't a battlefield, but she raised me to adulthood. I chose her. And, of course, my crystal-ness went into remission over the years to bubble up through depression in my early adult years.

I am now the mother of a boy, who is at this point, I am unsure of his metaphysical label, but that doesn't matter really. These labels just help group stuff together for quicker communications. I am desperately looking for other crystal mothers. Becoming a mother has reconnected me to my 'crystalness' and yet, I find myself not connecting deeply to the other mothers around (aside from the regular stuff). I wondered, primarily, if your daughter is a mother? And, if so, would she like to be
in communications with another 'crystal' mother?

Also, in being a crystal mother facing these challenges, I have a lot to say. I felt this desire to connect with you as you had also raised a sensitive child and had insights. Were you lonely among the other mothers? Did you feel like people just didn’t understand the type of approach necessary to parenting your child as I do? I feel as though my son is my teacher as I am his. I am responsible for caring for his body and managing the developmental stages, but beyond that he is awe striking in his wisdom and maturity. So, I just have fun with him when we aren’t tangled in some developmental learning stage that requires my 'big head' to be teaching his 'little head'. Anyway. I feel no one understands except my husband as none of my current embodied soul-group has children right now and the mothers I meet just judge at worse or don't understand at best....

I will go now hoping to have the courage to send this. And, I thank you for being available to address without knowing you.

What a great letter! You are so very much one of the elder crystals that I have written about, right down to not being sure that you would send your letter. You did, and I am glad. I feel like you have a lot to offer others with your insight, wisdom and warmth, so I would love it if you wrote more of "all you have to say!" Please do so in the form of a personal letter to me, or an article with a particular theme, as there are many others facing the same challenges that can benefit from your experience.

I am most impressed with your insight into your warrior Indigo mom. In
typical Crystal fashion, you see the big picture and are able to be quite objective, even though she had to have made your life a living hell with your sensitivities.

My Indigo daughters are not mothers yet. I do have one daughter who is not an Indigo who has children, but who would not be what you need in the way of communication. What I would like to do is print your letter, with your permission, and an email address so that others may write to you. If you are uncomfortable giving out your email, create a separate one specifically for any emails you may receive as a result of the publication of this letter. I will not use your name! Also I am going to attach an old list of Crystal Elders who are willing to communicate with others. It is quite out of date, but you still may find someone who is a young mother with whom you may communicate.

In some ways, I was very lucky when I raised my now 29-year-old Crystal
Elder son. By the way, he didn't have an alcoholic mother, but he did have a warrior mother, and even though he had an idyllic childhood in many ways, he too faced periods of depression in his young adult years. Back to his early years. I was very clearly guided to parent him differently, and I did indeed have to fight the world to do so, thus the "warrior." Even his father did not agree with my parenting style, but I knew I was right. Grandparents just plain thought that I was nuts! However, I raised him in Seattle, Washington in a diverse and liberal neighborhood, one filled with a number of other mothers like me. Trevor attended parent co-op preschools in our neighborhood where I met these mothers who are still friends in the dearest sense.

You are so perceptive and are doing an amazing job of parenting. I can feel it. However, you deserve to have relationships with others who are more like you, so let's see if someone might write to you. Also, if you have a local community college nearby and you are in the US, check with them about their classes for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, as that is where I met so many wonderful mothers and fathers. Granted, that was nearly 30 years ago, but at least it is worth a try.

Finally, I admire your courage to step out (which is hard for a Crystal
Elder to do) and be willing to meet others. By announcing this to the
Universe, I am certain that you will succeed in getting what you have asked for.

How can I hone energy and help others
without being noticed?

Hi Sharyl,

Hi. I just read your description of Crystal Children. I am an adult (29 in 5 days) but it described me to a tee. Is there such a thing as a crystal adult? If so, what could I do with it? How could I hone energy and help people, animals, or situations. Without being noticed. I realize you probably get a lot of emails, so I will be patient in waiting for a reply if its not too much trouble.

Hi F,

There are indeed those known as Crystal Elders who are your age and many times even older. I happen to have a Crystal Elder son who was 29 on March 19th of this year (2004). He is actually whom I modeled my list of attributes after. Please check out additional articles that I have written for www.planetlightworker.com in the children's section by going through the archives and previous issues. Click here for one example. This online magazine is now by subscription, but was free for the four years, so there is an array of articles available in our archives (free) to check out.

The role of the Crystal Elders has included testing the waters to see if we were ready for the more pure crystalline energy to be born. There have always been a few Crystal Elders, but it has always been a very difficult role to play and most often we killed them.

I hate it when I ask a question and I get an answer that feels like a pat on the head, and that is what this may feel like to you, but here goes. You ask what you can do and I will tell you that the greatest thing that you can do, you have already done. You are here, you have stayed, and you have made the space and carried the energy to make way for the new children. There has been no greater task!! It may not feel like enough, but I assure you that it is.

Now, as I watch my Crystal Elder, he continues to teach me so very much about how to not just survive and endure, but about how to flourish on this planet. He has always said that each of us compromises who we are and what we want instead of following our passion. He is a poet, an artist, a clothing designer, and a teacher of his favorite sport among other things. He gave up a well paying career because it did not "feed his soul." I tell you all of this to say, do what you love and you simply make the grandest contribution that can be made. YOU hold the energy!! If you can do it while being happy, you have done something miraculous indeed.

So, thank you for coming, thank you for staying and find something that you love and follow it.
